True, but by the time you have to resort to that, there isn't much of an argument going on anyhow.
Anyone who could be appropriately termed a "godbot" isn't capable of having an argument because they
aren't capable of considering anything outside of their dogmatic religious views.
Once it gets to that point, it's not worth continuing. |

It does nothing for the argument except cheapen it. It is an ineffective way of proving a point.
It is a device used to irritate the opponent and it only works if you get irritated. So don't get
so irritated by it. Take the high road and your argument looks and is stronger. |

I have to disagree. I agree with Sam Harris that it is high time to demand of these people that they
put up or shut up. I see no reason to be nice to them once they have opened their mouths in public.
They are willing to offend at will feeling like God is behind them without once considering the
feelings of the people around them who have different opinions. I hadn't heard "Godbot" before; I
really like it.
I say, feel free to use these terms the same way the bible thumpers use "heathen", "pagan" and
"sinner". It's high time they got a taste of their own medicine. |
