That would definitely raise the crime rate, you can't fight blade with a blade anyway, both people
would get injured or killed. I doubt there are many people in the world responsible enough to carry
a knife, let alone in Britain, where the majority of youth lack morals.
If you want to protect yourself, don't get involved in gangs or become a chav, or making your mouth
go.
I would not feel safe in society any longer knowing everyone I see is carrying a blade, especially
when their are drunks or drug abusers on the streets, and even mentally ill people can misuse
weapons. The mere thought of everyone carrying a blade is barbaric. |

Whoever wrote this is seriously lacking in grey cells! For self-protection, do you know why many
stabbings happen? Because stupid people are carrying knifes for protection! Most places especially
London are unsafe walk because of that idea. |

I don't think so. In fact it would raise the crime rate. Along with this, people would feel insecure
knowing that some of them are carrying some sort of weapons.
I think there should be betterment in law and order rather than giving people a chance to have shot
at the criminals themselves. |

Just like with guns, if you want more knives around expect more knife-related crime. |

There is absolutely no conclusive evidence to suggest that countries or other jurisdictions that
allow citizens to carry weapons for self-defence have lower crime rates than those states that
prohibit this practice. In fact, the number of violent crimes throughout much of the United States
remains higher than in most European countries, despite the fact that gun ownership is fairly
common.
I would not feel safe knowing that people I bump into on the street or on public transport have guns
and knives on their person. Alcoholism, drug use and, in fact, the stresses of every day life cloud
judgement and even law-abiding citizens may once make a poor decision--out of circumstances partly
beyond their control--and may decide to use their weapon.
We live in a civil society. Yes, there are unfortunately crimes, but by choosing to live in a
democracy, we agree to give up certain rights (such as carrying weapons) in the understanding that
public authorities will offer us protection. In the vast majority of cases, this system functions
quite well. |

Not a chance. The only outcome of that would be that they are used more often. |
