Black People Voting For Obama Because He Is Black Is Not The Moral Equivalent Of White People Voting Against Him For The Same Reason
Whenever the question of racist white people refusing to vote for Obama is raised, I've noticed that the standard counter to it (from white people who wouldn't vote for him) is that white people are morally justified in not voting for him because he is black because there are black people who will only vote for him because he is black. But this is rubbish. Blacks are and have been an oppressed minority. Their choice is moral, legitimate and understandable. Whites have been the dominant and often oppressive majority. So the two choices are not moral equivalents.

When people say "What if Whites were opposed for hundreds of years, and then a White man runs for president?", then they would have to agree that enslaving Blacks in the first place was justified because they would have done it if they were in the White's position at the time.

Yep. Voting based on race alone is the same no matter which way it makes you vote.

Racism is dead? Really? Well, someone should tell it, because it's still stalking around.

And momto4-- you DO know that McCain is pro-choice, too, right? Which is a large part of the reason evangelicals refused to support him until he became the Republican nominee?

Besides which black people are not voting for him simply because he is black. Just like anybody else most blacks vote based on issues. In fact Obama is not carrying the same numbers of black voters that the Clinton usually do.

Voting for Obama because he is black is also saying your not voting for McCain because he is white.

I think race is a dead issue no one is really racist anymore: We got bored with that a long time ago when Martin Luther King kicked everyone's @$$ in his riveting Oratory: "I Have A Dream", youtube.com.

Then S.M. Lockridge another black man's riveting youtube.com "That's My King" video Oratorical-Debate.....spine-tingling.

Nah. I disagree: Racism is dead, the right punch+ the left punch:
Face it people: Racism died in the debate-boxing-ring FAIR AND SQUARE by Martin Luther King and S.M. Lockridge.
That's that now people. No more talk, it's been settled by the blacks.

Leave the Blacks alone: They won;-)

It is all ignorance! Plain and simple. Voting for or against someone because of the color of their skin is ignorant! Can we rise above the ignorance for goodness sakes? And can you stop posting these racially charged posts? I am tired of them. I have looked at your other posts about race and you offend me, because you act like you have all the answers to race relations. Are you "black"? Or are you a self proclaimed race relations liason? We don't need you as an advocate! Understand?

Pretty ironic that you say skin colour is irrelevant then immediately demand to know what mine is. And the answer to your question is no. I will not stop raising issues which disturb your complacency.
