I'm for biomass until solar power comes along. However, I'm definitely 100% for solar power, sooner
the better the first people solar powered aircraft is invented. Then you may see the price of flight
tickets drop, (picking up threads from other debates).
Right now the technology and the market are such that these fuels output about 125% of the energy it
takes to manufacture and distill. But as the price of goes up and oil availability go down and as
the technology increases yield and starts using more non food crops the balance of that equation is
going to steadily tip to more to biomass fuels becoming a long term part of the overall energy
profile of more and more places. Within ten years we might be looking at a return rate of more than
500%.
Oil's the main problem with rising prices, it's better to have a more cultured fuel like Biomass instead of crude OIL! And it's a million times better for the planet to have solar power instead. Get my drift?
