I tend to agree, but I think the point of Big Brother is that it is really the modern day equivalent
of the old freak shows. There is also the fact that if people didn’t watch it, then they
wouldn’t bother making it. |

I think you are right. I watched the first Big Brother but now it is BB9 I think and it is still
the same old formula and is getting tired, not least because the people are so boring and when they
do get someone interesting in, they boot them off!
Remember the days of Nasty Nick when the live feed and Internet site were temporary stopped while -
horror! The housemates held a meeting to confront Nasty Nick and there might have been fisticuffs!
It was even on the news!
Looking back now it all seems so innocent but that is the sort of impact Big Brother should be
aiming at and, if they can't find an interesting mix of people then perhaps Big Brother is past its
sale by date. |

Once again I am right.
My wife loves the show and I find myself watching it sometimes. Hours of my life I will never get
back. Of all the people who are interesting and witty in this country why on earth have these
idiots been chosen. The makers of the show should hang their heads in shame, it is a wasted
opportunity for what could be an interesting and amusing show. |

Sorry, but i think it was a bad idea to start with. I really don't understand why so many people are
so obsessed with it. |

I think they made an interesting program. They apply psychology in an often cruel manner to
manipulate those under their power. Big brother has total control of the program, and can, by
showing us what it chooses to show us, manipulate our perception of the people we see.
Bit like God.
It is shown as an advert for democracy. Housemates voting for each others eviction, and the general
public voting for the ones they want to remain in the house. The general public being manipulated by
the editing of the program. Thus Big Brother really chooses it's own winner, by only showing the
public, what it wants it to see. |
