While I do see the point you are trying to make and I agree that many female singers (and other celebrities) dress suggestively, I would not call them porn stars. Showing skin is not the same thing as engaging in sexual activities on camera. They might be showing more skin than you feel is appropriate, but it is a bit unkind to call them porn stars. Judging these women by what they wear is similar to the people to claim that women who are dressed in revealing clothes when they are raped have somehow asked for it. As long as they are comfortable in what they have on and they aren't your daughter, it is entirely up to them to chose a wardrobe. I also think that the dance moves they perform during a concert or music video might make it more comfortable for them to wear less clothing. They are the performers and as long as people are paying to see them perform, they must be doing something right. As a mother, I sometimes do feel that some of the younger singers and other entertainers could make more of an effort to present a wholesome image because they are role models to their young fans, but I also realize that it is my responsibility as a parent to teach my children what is and isn't acceptable and to instill the values and morals I find important in them. It is not up to the entertainment world to demonstrate these values. Parents have the authority to stop their young chlldren from viewing anyone they find objectionable.
