Well the word keeper implies controlling to me but I think helping and caring and contribution is
the core of a good community. |

The core message of Jesus is love and compassion, basically it's a variation of the Golden Rule - do
unto others as you'd have done unto you. That concept is the very basis of contemporary society.
Yes, it's good for society.
Now if you take the statement verbatim ("Brother's keeper") and you "keep" him by locking him in a
cage as your prisoner, then it's not really good for society, unless your brother is quite
dangerous. :) |

Heh, I almost have to agree. However, love cannot feed you, it cannot give you drink...basically
you'll die if you don't have food or water and even shelter. So love isn't ALL the human race needs,
unless you're implying that it's better for every single human on earth to die of thirst or
something. Heck, as long as we have LOVE we'll be fine when we die, eh?
Yeah, I get what you mean, but hey, it's fun to take things too literally ;) |

It can't cause a cure for cancer. Unless somebody has a loved one who dies from cancer, and in the
name of love finds a cure so no one has to feel that pain again. Would that be considered the power
of love or the power of the human mind? |
