I am a teacher and have been for 18 years. I can tell you that teaching is fun, but it is not for
everyone. Teachers are the lowest paid and least respected individuals on the face of the earth.
Teachers are treated like dogs by unruly students and by unsupportive administrators. They are not
allowed to make a lot of money because as soon as they make "too much" then they are laid off and
the schools get in teachers right out of college because they can pay them less to do the same job.
I would not recommend teaching for anyone. It is hard to make a living being a teacher and you
suffer every night from the stress brought on by unruly kids and unsupportive administrators. If you
are going to spend thousands of dollars in college, then get a career that will pay you back. Only
teachers who marry rich spouses can truly make it. It is sad, but true. I speak from experience. |
