Second, often times better decisions will be made by the charity than the government regarding the
true needs of the recipient. Thirdly, the government is wasteful and as we all know monies pass
through many grabbing hands in the bureaucracy before reaching the hands that really need it.
Fourth, it expands the powers of government by defining its role as more and more the provider,
when, in actual fact, the government produces nothing of value to add to the commerce of the
country--it only confiscates and takes at will. |

What a strange debate. It sounds like you want to make people suffer so they appreciate handouts
more. I would suggest giving it a try first before deciding what's more moral for people.
If I was starving I would definitely assume the victim role. What else is there, death? |

Cute. Kinda sinister from where I sit but cute. So we should open up government begging centers. The
GBC. Let all the needy go to the GBC and beg the government for help.
OOOOPS. Looks like we'll have to pay for the begging facilities and the begging administration.
We'll need the anti-corruption GBC task force to make sure the administrators don't get rich off the
process. (we wouldn't want to forget things like the Fannies would we?)
Liberals and Conservatives should be be forced to isolation so the rest of us can get on with
thinking clearly. |
