Yes, since most places tend not to even serve beer on Sundays it would get people realizing that
they shouldn't drink on Sundays, or better yet make a giant scene in a restrant because of it...T_T
roger i do love you...but did you have to scream at the poor guy? |

Bars shouldn't be open at all, but especially not on Sundays. |

They probably shouldn't, think of how many people could have kept there jobs because the bars were
closed on Monday and they never got hammed the day before work. And what you say is based solely on
the christian point of view, where many Christians would even disagree. |

Oh child, you are going to hate my comment because 40 plus years ago I could have been you all
wrapped up the righteousness of Christianity. Hopefully you will grow up to recognize the Bible for
the fantastic work of folklore that it is and your life will get simpler and you'll be less
interested in using religion to mess with other people's lives. |

I disagree...what should be eliminated from bars is parking lots |

Not all people go to church. Also they would have to be closed from sundown FRi. To sundown Sat. For
the Jewish Sabbath and closed all day Sat. For the Seventh Day Adventists, whose Sabbath is Sat. |

I'm with that guy. If you think drinking on Sunday is disrespectful to your God then don't drink on
Sunday, Your "God" will punish the others.
There is a reason for separation of church and state! So ALL Americans are represented by the law.
Other wise our country would have been called the United Christian States of America. Respect all
citizens, please. |

You’re making the mistake of thinking that all people share the same religious views as yourself. |

How ridiculous!
If you think keeping the Sabbath Day Holy is moral, allow those that don't do so go to hell, but let
them have the free will you believe God granted them and choose for themselves. |

Yeah? I don't know where you live, but in the UK not everybody goes to church. Why change everything
for everyone just because a few Christians get offended? Devout Muslims don't drink, yet the bars
are still open. Though Islam gets more bad press than any other religion, I still have never met a
Muslim I have found to be pretentious or stuck up. Unlike some christians I have met..seemingly
you'd fall into this category. |

When you are old enough to have a drink on your day off from work, sit down and enjoy a Sunday roast
and watch the footy, you are perfectly within your rights to decide not to and to go to church
instead. I however love my Sundays doing just what I said. Who are you to stop me. I wouldn't
dream of stopping church just because I think football is better. Accept that others may want
different things and you will be a better person for it. |

I must say that this suggestion sounds like it came from English-Canada, back in the 1950s, when all
pubs and liquor stores were closed on election day and when it was illegal to get up from your chair
at any pub with a pint of beer and walk over with it from one table to another. You actually had to
call over the bar-maid, if you wished to "transport" your pint.
There really is no good reason to close pubs on Sundays, since the majority of people in much of the
Western world have made a personal decision not to attend church on a regular basis. Others aren't
even Christian to begin and we can't very well go around closing pubs on Fridays and Saturdays, in
order to accommodate Muslims and Jews. This is, after all, a free and multicultural society.
I personally often go to church on Sundays, but I would be a bit upset if the pubs were to close on
this day. Many pubs in Britain and Canada serve great food and have even better prices. Even though
these meals may not be the healthiest out there, I don't mind enjoying a good fish & chips or a nice
Lancashire hotpot every now and then. |
