Barack Obama Is The Best Bet For The US
With the Democratic nomination between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton being so remarkably close, I believe that Barack Obama is the best bet for the US Democratic nomination and Presidential election, with respect to bringing about the changes that are so needed and to uniting America, despite Hillary Clinton's greater political experience, and ability to argue and discuss policy details.

He is a great, charismatic, YOUNG man.
He will bring the change to America
and not the third world war-as McCain would.

Obama will be a President who will lead by helping guide people back into a sense of involvement in their government. And if you think he's all talk - face facts - his movement (and it is a movement) is very real people are volunteering because this articulate, vigorous legislator with more legislative experience than Hillary Clinton has way more substance than Hillary. Hillary is smart and has deep knowledge on a lot of topics, but she can't see beyond her own grudges. Obama will be the President for the Future because he has already found numerous ways to use Internet technology as an easy lever to get we busy Americans involved again in our own government.

Edwards would have been better in my opinion, but, of the three left in the race, Obama I think would be best. Of course, any democrat would be better than any republican.

The main concern I have about Obama, though, is his potential naivete. He talks about bipartisanship, of reaching out, bringing the country together, as you do in your post. Why is it always Democrats who try and be bipartisan and reach out? When the Repugnicans get in, they stomp all over everything democrats care about. They don't worry about reaching out or being bipartisan. So why should democrats have to be concerned about it?

Politics isn't supposed to be bipartisan. If it was, we wouldn't need democracy at all; wouldn't need to choose from among a number of competing options. The democrats should get into office and vigorously advance their own agenda, without worrying about how republicans feel about it.

Perhaps, but should there not be, to some extent at least, bipartisanship of some form? After all, it is intended to aim to please as many as possible, taking into account the different party views, in order to act in the public interest. Therefore, I believe that there should be a certain level of bipartisanship, no matter which party wins the election.

Also, just out of interest, why would you have preferred Edwards?

Hussein would bring prayer back into the schools, but it would be mandatory and several times a day.

It would be like any other Democrat winning office. In this case, Hillary or Obama, this country would crash.

I am totally against Obama! He is not ready for the job of President. No way...not now! He has not moved from junior Senator and wants to be President? I don't get it.

Could those who believe that Barack Obama would "bring about the changes that are so needed" tell me precisely what these concrete changes are? As far as I can tell, Hillary Clinton has a more comprehensive plan for reforming America's dismal health care system and she is also far more capable when it comes to dealing with foreign policy issues.

Clinton and Obama's responses to how they would deal with Iran were telling. In a debate late last year, Obama and Clinton were asked if they would sit down and negotiate with Iran's leaders. Obama, somewhat foolishly, said that he would, because talking is the only way of resolving the nuclear issue. Clinton, however, said that she would not engage in direct dialogue, because the Iranians could use this as a propaganda victory. Clinton is absolutely right and this shows her level of maturity and her experience in politics.

Clinton voted for the Iraq war. She also voted for the measure that declared the Iranian revolutionary guard a terrorist organisation, which the neocons were pushing as a preamble to their next war, if the CIA hadn't undercut them by releasing the intelligence report that said Iran wasn't building a nuke, showing that she learned nothing from her previous mistake. Throughout her career in the Senate, she has pandered to the slavering right-wingers, supporting Israel uncritically, calling for more troops, more war, more death. The main concrete change needed is to end the absurd unending war and atmosphere of general hysteria about "terror" in the world. Quite clearly, that is change Billary isn't going to provide.

I do not think that Barack Obama is good for the United States. I do not know how American people can really trust him. Although he does not practice Muslim right now, he does have ties to the Muslim religion and I do not feel that the US needs to have a Muslim president or any president with ties to the Muslim world. With all that has gone on over the war, I think that the US needs a president who is going to work towards improving the US and spend less money on other countries. I will definitely be voting for Hillary. I really think that John Edwards would have been the best choice for president, but it is too late for him now, so Hillary would be my second choice. I cannot trust Obama. I would rather see another republican before I see Obama in the White House.

I'm from Illinois, and I do not like Barack Obama. I think he is a good leader, but that means nothing with TERRIBLE, socialist, radical, dumbfouded views.

Hopefully the United States of America will survive beyond his presidency so that I can show my children pictures of what life was like before Barack Obama was our President.

Really? I think we should wait and see what happens, with respect to who is elected President and, if it is Obama, how he fares.
