| Barack Obama Defeating Hillary Clinton For The Democratic Nomination Proves That Sexism Is More Prominent Than Racism In America Today. |
| Do you think that was the reason he won, or did people just think he was a better candidate? |

I was wondering the same thing.... |

I think Obama generally had a better chance in winning due to his manifesto. He was the best
candidate, and he has won the presidency, which proves that he was. IT has nothing to do with sexism
and racism, if so then McCain would have won. |

Oh its because of her politics!!! Hilary Clinton would be the first step towards the road to
socialism! All that talk about universal health care junk and education for all(including the
illegals) that's wat lost it for her. |

WHAT! No! Its the politics! I'm a girl and i wouldn't vote for her! Her politics are insane! (so is
obamas!) |

It seems a rather silly statement - it assumes that one or the other - racism or sexism - has to be
more dominant (or exist at all), and that the result of a contest meant to be about who is right for
the job was based solely on the question 'do i prefer black guys or white women'. I'm sure racism
AND sexism played a part in the decision of some - I'd like to say a few. But the outcome can't be
used to say that sexism 'trumps' racism, because so many other factors - including her campaign, and
Obama's appeal to many - contributed. |

Barack Obama won the Democratic Primary over Hillary Clinton due to several factors. One, her
campaign strategy was a great factor in her losing... She fired the campaign director after losing
many states in Super Tuesday... Two, her stance on the Iraq war....Hillary voted for the war.. This
I find incredible.. Her husband was President for eight years...she had the best inside intel you
could possible have... But popular opinion meant more than the justification to allow Bush to invade
Iraq... Third... And probably the most detrimental to her personally... In a debate, Hillary always
takes the offense position.. Barack is a natural at defense.. Just like Bill Clinton.. A great
listener and as close as your going to get to a moderate in America... Barack is the right person
for the job... I hope people in the country can leave their opinions at the door and just watch this
incredible person with admiration and respect..By the way, I am a woman.. |

Of course it came down to policies and such. I'm assuming a small percentage thought that way, but
that's with everything in life. |

Nah, I think Hillary's personality polarizes people into either love her or hate her groups. Surely
some who hate her do it because she's a woman, but I've heard others say they can't even stand the
sound of her voice much less what she says. And there are many who just wanted the baggage
associated with the Bill Clinton presidency years to go away.
Personally, I quite like Hillary, I'm not a hater, but I also like Barack and I think he energized
the electorate more than Hillary. |

If it was two white males fighting against each other and one won then everyone would turn and say
that was because they had better policies. But because it is a white woman and a black man we
immediatly think it has something to do with discrimination!
It is a shocking thing to see in today's society with the other candidites people didn't concentrate
on them nearly as much as Clinton and Obama!
If I was an American citizen and could vote then I would vote for Obama. Not because he's black but
because he has good policies and could easily change America for the better! |

Better canidate. Hilary is a woman, though. I think that scares many Americans, including me. Woman
are very sensitive. |

I can't believe we are talking about this. Sexism had nothing to do with it. She ran a bad
campaign. She didn't take the caucuses serious. It has more to do with racism for Obama. States
like Ohio, and West Virginia and Kentucky and Pennsylvania said that race plays a big factor.
Please, do not fall for these PUMA groups that say Obama interjected sexism into the race. He ran
an excellent campaign. |

I think it had more to do with Obama's vision for the country and his promise of change. |
