Bully's hate being stood up to. It is quite amusing seeing them run or squirm. Once you have their attention you can show love and understanding.

Hmm... That's a tough one....in truth we at one point had been bully and had become a bully to others when under stresses.
I see it as a vicious cycle of push and push back... It all in our history. Hmm... Personally, bullying in all from shouldn't be tolerated in society, but is also a great learning tool to know how to defend yourself from such assault on your mind.

I once watched a film about a teacher in a predominately white township in the USA. the lesson was about one of the worst kinds of bullying, RACISM. A female teacher in her sixties taught a class of 11-year-olds, in just two days, a fundamental fact about the effects of RACISM. The lesson began on a Monday morning when she asked all the brown-eyed children in the class to put their hands up. She then placed a brown collar around their necks. She then asked all the blue-eyed children to put their hands up. She then proceeded to compliment the blue eyed children stating that she had noticed how well they had done with their schoolwork. And, continued to tell them about how clever and well mannered, polite, happy and cheerful they all were, and what a pleasure it was to teach them. She then told them that they could all have an extra ten minutes for break, and an extra hour for lunch. Then she sternly turned her attention to the brown eyed children, shouting loudly how lazy and disruptive they had been to the class. How their homework was never up to the standard required. And, continued about their bad schoolwork in general. She then told them that they were to have 5mins less for their break, and 15 mins less for their lunch hour. She continued to oppress the brown-eyed children throughout the day, and compliment the blue-eyed children. At the end of the day they all had a test, and, it was discovered that the blue-eyed children standards had increased dramatically, with the majority getting ten out of ten. However, the standards previously achieved in recent tests taken by the brown-eyed children had unfortunately dropped dramatically. The next day in class the blue-eyed children all had smiles on their faces, even little Johnny had taken his coke bottle bottom thick glasses off to show off his blue eyes, in class. The brown eyed children were all sitting quiet and glum. However, the wise teacher then turned the whole scenario around, and said the brown eyed children were the clever ones, and told them to place their collars on the blue eyed children, and continued to praise them throughout the day. Little johnny's glasses soon went back on. She continued to pour scorn on the blue- eyed children for the rest of the day, even more so than she had done on the brown-eyed the previous day. They all had a test again, and it was the brown-eyed children who came away with the highest marks, while the blue-eyed children's marks dramatically dropped. On the third day she explained the lesson to the whole class, And, when the children eventually finished their schooling, they all went back one by one and thanked her for the important lesson she had taught them during those two days.

I am very much in favor of the other side of this debate, but I wish to play Devil's Advocate side, to practice;-)

That is my Disclaimer;-)

Okay, here it is:

1. Being treated like CR@P, bad-mouthed every time you
leave your front porch, is good for you because you learn
how to HATE @SSWHOLES.
2. Being criticized by ugly fat nasty Boogers who work at the
City, is good for you because you GET IMMUNE TO TALK.
You learn how to tune people out not even notice their
existence. Which is a good thing;-)
3. You become HARDENED to the THOUGHTS and OPINIONS
of all others, so that your own are the only ones left.
4. You become a Hard@ss. That is a good thing to be.
You are Immune to "Bullying" you have been "Vaccinated".
You are happy within yourself, and they..........AREN'T ;-)
YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*smiles*
*bows*

Thank you very much!

Scorpion.

To play the Devil's advocate, and bring out the best in your opponent in a debate one must first offer up the worst possible scenario. Hate breeds contention, which creates a fierce struggling dispute between arguing opponents. You have produced, and presented a very convincing and fierce argument., worthy of the Devil himself.
In reply:

(1) To learn how to hate a$$holes? ;-( is absolutely wrong, one should learn how to Love a$$holes...;-)

To be righteous and true one must always see the light that surrounds your loving heart. And, the shadow forming from this light must always cast a shadow of Love. When you discern with your heart, you will always perceive the darkness and hate within a bully. Empathise! If they bad mouth one, and treat one like cr@p, then it should be quite obvious to one that this is the way they have been treated for most of their life. Hate breeds contention, and it is this contention that burns within their heart. The more you feed the fire of hate, the fiercer it will burn. However, instead of learning how to Hate a$$holes, one should endeavour to learn how to LOVE them. Love will quench the fire of hate that burns within their hearts. Who, you may think sometimes is a complete and utter a$$hole, may be a descent and good person underneath. However, they have most probably been treated like cr@p by other a$$holes, and learnt how to hate all people whether they are a$$holes or not as your opening argument suggests. The problem is how do you break the circle of HATE? Simply by listening empathically to them, ask them direct heart piercing questions, think about their reply, in fact count up to ten, before you reply, and if they continue during your count, start your count again after they finish, let them pour all their hatred out of their heart. Drain them of their hatred. Then fill their heart up with your own love and kindness. One will be amazed at the results...;-)

Bullying should not be tolerated! LOL!

What are you going to do? Beat em' up? Punish em"?

Look, no one likes a bully and being a bully is already not tolerated. What more would you like the world to do to make you feel safe?

I know the reality of the world is hard on many people, but it will become much easier to cope with when you wrap your head around the fact that there have always been bullys, and will always be bullys. So what? Being bullied was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It sucked, but taught me to stand up for myself. It taught me not to fear other people. After all, what is a bully if not a lonely coward who can't find a way to connect with people around him?

I say pity the bully! Find a way to tolerate him! His existence is far worse than those who get bullied by him. Oh, and there is always another bully out there who is bigger and badder than the bully you don't like. He'll get his! And that is a good thing.

First you must stand up to the bully! If the bully insists on bullying you further. Tell someone who is bigger than the bully, and see what happens. I bet the bully won't stand up to them. Bullies are cowards. No one likes a bully.

Well i guess it matters to what degree you are speaking of. Overly bullying- any type of sexual or physical harassment.
Semigood bullying- mental harassment.
What wont kill you will only make you stronger. The problem with sexual harassment is that it usually traumatizes the victim. The problem with physical harassment is its chance to kill the person or completely destroy their self esteem. Mental harassment, if not to such a degree as to destroy the persons self esteem tends to make people more competent in their work and less susceptible to future mental harassment. If bob over there spends his time saying I'm stupid and that i do a bad job then I'm likely to figure out that i don't care that he thinks I'm stupid and to do a better job then him. Although in a society wheres there's no bullying the ability to resist it would be a bit redundant
