The link mentions British footballers being made to give a Nazi salute back in 1938. I wasn't aware of that history, but it is utterly apt and a direct equivalent of what is being asked today.

But given the British government's attempts to silence people on other issues, as well as violate their rights (e.g. No DNA = no passports), it's clear their government no longer believes in democracy or free speech.

It is disgraceful, but we must remember that China is a growing world power and is basically looking for any excuse to destroy the Democracies of the world.

It's utterly appalling that they will be forced to sign these contracts. The British government should intervene in this matter and force the British Olympic Association to change its policy. I'm sure it receives public money in some form so the people, and the people's representatives, should have a say in the matter.

If the plans go ahead anyway, the athletes should get together on the first day of the games and publicly read out a denunciation of China's policy in Tibet word-for-word in unison, forcing the BOA to either ignore the matter or send the whole team home.
