"Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him." |

First of all, Albert Einstein, Ben Franklin, and George Washington were Christians. Second, just
because athiests think the Bible is wrong because of logical reasons, that doesn't mean it is.
Christianity has over 2 million followers. Why don't you just give it a chance?! |

I'm an atheist, but i don't agree, that either is more intelligent. I tend to think atheists tend to
be more rational thinkers, and that is why we reject religion. Religion is a belief that in my mind
is absurd whether it be Islam, Christianity or Hinduism. However, I believe religious thinkers have
imagination, they create this being (God) iin their minds as incredible. I may not agree but i love
their theories, the Augustine theory of how evil entered the world is amazing, to think that
someones belief is that strong to concoct such a notion is beyond me. I respect each individual and
their beliefs and think that we are both the same intellectually just in different ways. |

If only you would on said that most atheist people are smart. Then I would agree with you. I'm
atheist, but agree that some religious people are smart, (but that's to do with their actual
intelligence), not following a holy book (I think that's abit silly). And also I'm glad that
religion blocks science, you need for there to be a counter to science. Science on its own would
become a very dangerous thing! |

Those intelligent individuals you mentioned were, actually, not Atheists. Religion does not
necessarily prevent one from viewing matters through the perspective of science. Isaac Newton was
brilliant, wasn't he? Yet he believed in the supreme Creator. |

No I think being Atheists is choosing to ignore the many things that scientist still haven’t been
able to understand. I smart! I'm sure they believe they are though. |

I'm completely for science and everything but unfortunately not this debate. Religious people aren't
stupid or dumb, but just ignorant in the ways of science. They choose to ignore it because they
believe what they were taught by a singular book. They say that man was created in God's image but
man is flawed. That would insinuate that God is flawed. Tha in itself is a contradiction because God
is meant to be the perfect being. |

That's bull. Just because they don't believe in any god doesn't make them the only smart ppl. George
washington was not an athiest. He was a free mason. And many of his speeches included god.
Christians do not believe that sticks turn into snakes. Why don't you stop posting Christians when
you don't know anything about them. |

Very humorous attempt at plausibility, but, OK, I'll bite;-)
the only smart people? Hummmm......I am smart: My I.Q. Has been
quantified at 149. I qualify as smart.
I once was an Atheist, yes, but BECAUSE I AM smart, I am no longer an Atheist......think about that
one for awhile and get back to me on it, okay?
Sincerely,
Scorpion. |

Why don't we let the Man speak for himself:
"To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and
the most radiant beauty which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their primitive forms - this
knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness."
"The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid
dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious
sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity.
Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific
needs it would be Buddhism."
Albert Einstein - The Merging of Spirit and Science
also:
"Then there are the fanatical atheists whose intolerance is the same as that of the religious
fanatics, and it springs from the same source ...They are creatures who can't hear the music of the
spheres."

The all-inclusive nature of the debate title itself betrays the fact that you are really not
interested in what is true about what you said. Only what you want to think is true. Therefore it is
not worthy of rebutting because your statement clearly indicates a lack of sincerity on your point
in honestly debating the matter. |

I don't know what to say other than mention the word "subjectivity". |

The title of the debate is too extreme to be true. Atheists are not the ONLY smart people in this
world. The religious had a hand in every successful country in the world (and so did the atheists).
Your subheading though which lists SOME atheists who were smart is true and I'd agree with that. |
