Where did you get these figures from anyway. I mean, who would go around with a piece of paper
asking two questions.
1. Are you an athiest?
2. Are you gay?

My word, I missed this debate.
90% of atheists are gay? I don't have any figures to prove my opposition but I would bet my house
to win a cheese sandwich that this is not true. What an unfounded comment to make.
Aside from the made up statistic, atheists don't even believe in god so they can't hate him. They
might get annoyed by some of the hatred that is said behind the smokescreen of religion but largely
we just don't care for religion at all. I, personally, just don't see the need for it.
Interesting that such homophobia and religious bile should come from Godfighter and THEPISCEAN as
well.

I am a straight Christian woman. I had many gay bosses who were fervently Christian and who
attended Episcopalian churches . One of my best friends was a gay Christian man. It was so sad but
he used to pray to God to m take his gayness away so he could marry and have children. |

Perhaps one of the most bizarre generalisations I have ever seen. Firstly you cannot say atheists
hate god because they don't believe in him, (though it can be said that some do dislike the concept
and those who worship him/her/it/them.) Secondly you cannot simply make up a percentage on how many
of them are gay, because there is simply no evidence to suggest that. Finally, people interpreted
different religions in different ways so as a result you can have people of any sexuality in any
religion (including atheism.) |

I'm having a hard time deciding where and how to mock and destroy the credibility of this debate
because there are so. Many. Options.
That statement is so subjective and vague and homophobic I have difficulty expressing my
shock with mere words..
What of gay Christians? Or at least gay people who believe in God? They don't hate Him.
Contrary to popular belief, atheism is not synonymous with hating God. It simply means we don't
believe in Him. Translate that as hate if you will, but don't blame us for causing conflict or being
aggressive.
It is my belief that you posted this to cause sheer controversy and as such, boost the replies of
the debate.
You may say that 90% are gay (a random figure I assume?), but you are 100% jerk.
I hope Scorpion is ashamed of you, if indeed she does exist.

A powerful case can be made that Jesus was himself gay, possibly even in a deviant sense. Regardless
of that, no atheist hates god, because no atheist believes that god exists. |

I had a good laugh when I read this title. I am going to say that this statement is terribly wrong
simply because there is a weak correlation between gays and atheists, also I don't think there are

Atheists are really closet gays? Well that explains a lot, oh no wait it doesn't! This would mean
that most straight people would believe in God. If we polled young married couples on their
spiritual status I think we would find some Atheists in there. Would these Atheists be then
classified as gays?
I might see your point if you said 90% of gays are Atheists, but the title seems a bit far fetched.

A) That's just extremely inflammatory rhetoric based on nothing, b) A large swath of priests and
ministers are either gay or pedophile or both, so it's utterly inaccurate to say gays hate God. If
anything the priest evidence shows the opposite. C) Atheists don't "hate God" anyway - they just
don't think God exists so how can they hate him/her - what they hate is the ultrareligious
oppressing them in the name of God.
Consider a counter theory - the people with the most extreme intolerance of gays often are closet

gays and atheists.

Most religious people or theists will disagree with you.
By the way Atheist do not hate God as they do not believe that he exists. In fact very few groups

Beliefs in the unknown are about science and philosophy, not sociology and societal issues such as
