Most Atheists And Theists Aren't Extremist
Some people seem to think that atheists and theists, are extremist because they are more stronger and passionate in their views. I think this wrong myself, but what do you think?

That's true, but the problem is that religious moderates will stay silent when extremists of the same religion act because the religious see it as furthering their goals.

When moderate atheists see extremists who are atheists, we fight against such them, rather than sit idly by as the religious do.

Somewhat by definition this is true. Most of any group isn't extremist. I guess most fundamentalists are extremist, but that's a tautology.

Thiests have their beliefs. Athiests have their thoughts. Were equal because neither of them really matters in the end.

The magic-mongers call anyone who dares challenge their wacky beliefs an extremist. They expect atheists, like children, to be seen and not heard. We are supposed to remain politely standing by while they wreak havoc across the world in the name of imaginary invisible beings. Well, to that I say No. Rational people have remained silent for too long. It's time to take the fight to the sheeple.

What is the alternative? Agnostic. This is just fence sitting. Why not be agnostic about every other subject on this site as we can't be truely certain about anything. I am Atheist because I fall on that side of the debate even if I can't be 100% sure that no god exists.

Extremism needs more than just being theist or atheist.

If you acknowledge the fact you can't be 100% sure no god exists...then you are not extremist. If you present your arguments as if you were 100% sure no god exists, you would be extremist.

You are correct that atheists and theists are not synonymous with extremism. You can have either view and not be an extremist.

However, you also should admit that many people in the atheist or theist camps do push their views with fervor and thus could be called extremist.

Passion and extremism, aren't the same Grenache. Passion can fuel extremism, but not vise versa. Calling someone extremist when they're being passionate is just lazy.

Look at madlyn o'hair she always came up with a shocking statement to get into the paper or news.they will come across as very much so extremist to get their fifteen minutes of fame and more or less glorify themselves.

If an Atheist says there can be no God, this would be extreme. If an Athiest demands all spiritual belief are wacky, they are being extreme. Hidell is a great example of extreme. There are different types of extreme. Hidell likes to be extreme with presentation. To compare this with extremism related to killing people would be extreme.

Theists:
I would be a great example of extreme Theism. I know God. I have a personal relationship with God. Most people who do not believe in gods and some who believe in a different God would almost have to see my statement as being extremist. True, I take this into consideration when dealing with others and try to dampen this effect.

Other theists do the opposite. They are extreme with presentation, playing the same game as Hidell.

Being passionate can be reasonable. Being reasonable depends on being able to CONSIDER that which is being presented. Many are extremists when it comes to defining reason.

Anyway, difficult to escape extremism in all points of views.
