Astronomy Should Be A Requirement Subject In Schools Everywhere
Because it is the most fabulous subject there is. Children should get to know all about everything in the realm of Science. And posters from The Hubble Telescope should be given to every child, so they could enjoy all the Universe, as a joy for one and for All alike.

The nightly skies are painted with unnumbered sparks; they are fired and every one doth sparkle and shine. Look how the floor of heaven is thick inlaid with patines of bright burning gold: There's not the smallest orb which thou behold'st but in its motion sings like a sweet delectable angel. Aye the Universe is an extremely interesting place!...;-)And, should play a big part in every school curriculum. Excellent Debate Motion, WELL DONE!

If I come back, I want to come back as the guy who came back as himself. Like that Jesus guy everyone keeps telling me about.

I think that it should just be available to kids who want to learn about the Universe, but if it was required I wouldn't mind it because it's a really interesting subject that has so much to learn about.

Astronomy should not be required for acedemic achievement. It should be an elective.

Though it has always been fascinating to me I think other than a rundown of the basics we should probably leave it an elective for now. Perhaps when we master getting children to master the basics of readin’, writin’, and rythmatic we can broaden the scope of what’s required.

I had it, but I could live without it. It's too specific of a science to be required. Maybe an elective, but not a requirement.
I prefer to live in "my own little world" anyway.

The reason high schools require coursework is because they want to broaden the child's mind and hopefully give them the knowledge for choosing a career path. I don't think Astrology would benefit as much as you think. It would be overall, a waste of money.
