Aspirin Is The Best Analgesic.
Is it still a wonder drug? Or is it being replaced by favourable alternatives such as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen?

Aspirin is best but just don't take to many. Some people are allergic.

I would agree but state it this way. Aspirin is the best value in pain relievers. Value equals quality divided by cost. Aspirin is extremely efficacious as an analgesic and as an anti inflammatory agent. It has some side effects you have to be aware of as Jakers mentions on the other side.

Aspirin has it's uses but I would not agree that it is the best.

In case anyone is unaware of this - please note that it can be dangerous in certain combinations of disease and other drugs given simultaneously. Never give aspirin to a child. With any age person, it is best to first try a tepid bath before using a drug to bring down a fever. This is especially true for any type of disease involving a rash.

I usually go for the generic ibuprofin, and it works fine. I think that there is no supreme analgesic, it just depends on the mindset with which you use it.

Aspirin isn't the best analgesic anymore. It used to be, but the discovery of the aforementioned Paracetamol and Ibuprofen have made the pain killing effects of Aspirin obselete. However, it is still a potent antipyretic, anti-inflamatory and anticoagulant. The latter effect is what maintains Aspirin's reputation: Taking one a day can help to prevent heart attacks and strokes. But an overdose is dangerous as it can can result in fatal internal bleeding, and at the very least a nasty stomach ulcer.

 If a person decides to take the "one a day" to prevent heart problems then they should be aware of the amount. It is not a whole adult asprin that should be taken daily. Asprin also works as a blood thinner so too much is not a good thing either. If you want to take the asprin once a day, take the baby asprin. Ask your doctor about halving it. In the US, we have a new package of asprin for that purpose only. It is not the same dosage and strength as an asprin taken for pain. It may even be less than a baby asprin but it's meant for the one a day regimen.

Aspirin is known to prevent certain cancers if taken each day. However, of all the analgesics, aspirin has the worst side-effects and greatly increases the patients chance of serious internal bleeding and stomach pains.
