Creativity is expression - this is the primary motivator - holding things in, especially natural energy isn't good. Making art gives the soul and imagination a work out. Exercise is always good therapy
Art therapy helped to pull me out of some very dark times. Not only did it make me feel much better
while doing it, I discovered a talent I wasn't aware I had.
Art therapy instead of prescription drugs? What a concept!
I agree that art is great therapy. It is a good stress reliever to take a brush across a canvas and
create something from what you are feeling at that moment. It is exhilarating and makes you feel so
free. This is why so many artists works are full of anger, full of happiness, etc. You can pinpoint
the feeling in every one.
When people connect with your art they are in a sense connecting with you even though that may never become a reality, it's still true in spirit. Something can always be done when there's energy - the act of creation takes energy which is proof of life and that's good for the soul.
