Arrogance is usually fear. Those who are arrogant are usually afraid of the positions they hold or
in some way they are threatened. People who truly have (whatever it might be - looks, intelligence,
physical abilities etc.) "it" and are secure about who they are, typically are not arrogant, on the
contrary, they are sometimes helpful in dealing with others, or compassionate to those who are less
endowed. I tend to look at arrogant people as being fearful people.
Then there are just mean people (also usually the result of fear). Unless it is an authority
figure, i just disassociate myself from them. To know in your heart that you are a good person is
usually enough to help get you through those who are mean.
I have no control over the behavior of others. I do have control over my reaction to them. I don't
have to let them upset me, and if i accept them as being the way they are and who they are, i can
move on. |

Both are negative. But one is not more detrimental than the other. Its applied use is more
detrimental; but must be taken on a case by case basis. |

Neither
"Which do you think is more negative or more psychologically harmful: A person behaving in a
condescending or arrogant manner , or one expressing explicit dislike for you?"
I express explicit dislike for everyone i meet and they have never made any show of it except the
people who think that everybody likes them but when they listen to me they act confused of why i
don't like them. This is purely my experience.
Also What does it matter what the arrogant person thinks. If you have enough life experience to
figure out it doesn't matter what other people think then their opinion is just that another opinion
and that if they refuse to stop to just ignore them. Also i think arrogance is very positive they
think such nice things about themselves. |

Both persons are clearly not your friend, so which evil is more evil?
Degrees of harm? Does it matter by which MEANS you are harmed, or just that you have been harmed by
someone else's rotten attitude?
Learn to IGNORE NEGATIVE behaviours, and likely this person will eventually get so bored they will
go victimize and emotionally terrorize someone less indifferent than yourself......... |
