I am for it. Most parties happen at night. I know that teens going to parties an drinking isn't
legal anyways but having more rules means that when they get caught that the law will be enforced
more harshly. Anyone that is not an adult should have more rules to follow then an adult.
It is good that teens have a curfew cuz then it would keep some of the reckless drivers off the road
at night. It also is a way to keep them safe cuz that is when most of the drunks come out after
parties.
1) Most "teens" don't commit crimes.
2) Those "teens" who do won't pay attention to a curfew.
3) Said curfew will only affect the law-abiding "teens", which is pointless.
All I can say is that one day the people who are victimising the youth of today shall be old and
relying on us for their pensions, food, heating etc...
The problem with this argument is that it incorporates 2 fallacies.
1. It assumes all teenagers will get involved in crime.
2. It assumes all crime occurs at night.
I've known people of about 14-15 sell illegal stuff at 2pm. Whilst at the same time I've known 16-17
years old have outdoor study groups late night with a bonfire and stuff.
I think that perhaps curfews need to be in place for those who deserve them, rather than a blanket
cover. I'm 19, and yet I run my own business - own my own apartment etc - so to think that the
curfew might effect me I think is rather silly.
At 19 you are and adult not a teen IMO. But that is a good point. I think with curfews set in place that after the age of 18 you wouldn't have a curfew anymore.
