I have a cross tat....Whenever someone says something negative about it I tell them it's my staing
glass window on my "temple" |

When I went to a Youth Camp with my friend, many of the youth sponsors and speakers had tattoos.
They also used to tattoos to represent their faith in God. |

I considered this before getting my rather large tattoo. Its in the Old Testament, along with not
killing your neighbours goats and stuff like that. Back then it wasn't a fashion statement, tattoos
were non-christian related, and the only people that had them were against God. No one got a tattoo
for fun back then. Nowadays it is a totally different idea. Granted people still do get reigious
tattoos, I don't think God will be upset unless it is against Christianity or anything involved with
it. If you got a tattoo saying "Jesus Christ my savior" would you think God would smite that
person? (Of course he doesn't smite.... I'm just trying to prove my point) |

No not at all it is just a material reminder of the past. No sin that won't fade away. |

Yes.
Tattoos should not be considered a "Sin".
A sin, is something which puts one's eternal soul in jeopardy.
Sin, is a very strong word here, to align with tattoos.
Tattoos, are un-sexy.
But surely, not sinful.
I wouldn't want that put on my body like a tattoo, but its only a personal preference, not a major
thing like smoking or drugs or drinking alcohol in public places etc etc etc
If I met a man with a tattoo, I would not make him feel bad for it or discriminate. I see tattoos
something along the same lines as some minor idiosyncrasy.
Something to be not spoken about.
Not dealt with as a major issue. Too trivial for that much attention.
Same as women's birthing stretch-marks: Something one just does not require addressing. Tattoos are
men's stretchmarks;-)

Of course tattoos aren't a sin. The body is a temple argument, taken to an extreme, also would mean
we can't have major dental work, can't get a rod inserted in a broken bone so we can walk again,
can't get lasix eye surgery, can't even cut our hair.
Countless aboriginal tribes used tattooing. And frankly we really don't know whether or not Jesus
had any tattoos. Lift up that robe and you might have found a surprise. |

With all of the actual problems to be dealt with in the world it sometimes utterly flabbergasts me
what ridiculous things the religious spend their time worrying about. This is one of the best ones
since the Harry Potter Satanism scare. I tell you what, if god has a problem with my tattoos he’s
welcome to come and get them. |

It shouldn't, but I don't think it matters. If you think tattoos are a sin, then don't get one. If
you want a tattoo, get one anyway. Simple as that. |

Tattoos are a way to express yourself and will never be a sin, no matter what anyone says. The bible
is just a book, not any more true than any other book, and there is no way anyone can prove
otherwise. |

I'm a Humanist so in my religion that promotes good citizenship you are free to tattoo with out any
spiritual repercussions! To learn more about godless religion just google American Humanist Assoc. |

If i could only go back and count how many cross tattoos I've seen in my time.
Didn't this god guy give his "children" freewill, or does that not apply here? The bible is packed
full of contradictions its ridiculous. Christians and catholics are great at picking and choosing
what "rule" they follow, and it boils down to whatever's convenient for them. You don't like
tattoos, so you use the bible as a defence. |
