| Orangutans Are Going To Be Extinct Due To Their Land/ Habitats Being Reduced In The Next 10-15 Years |
| Orangutans live in Borneo.
The land they live on is being cleared for plantations which makes palm oil which is used as a bio-fuel which might stop global warming.

Orang-utans are a well known animal, with public attention and so focused on them. More importantly
their plight is known well to the scientists in the field (zoologists). I doubt both assumptions in
this debate:
1. Their habitat will be destroyed. I think that a nature reserve will be left regardless of the
commercial pressures.
2. This will make them extinct. I think that a number would be taken to be bred in captivity
programs to avoid extinction. Indeed it is animals like this which justify zoos. Without them and
their money funding for captivity programs could cease. |
