Christians Are Like The "Borg" From Star Trek
Although Christians should worry about themselves, they have this need to convince people to join them and if they don't they bash them. They indoctrinate little children by using fear tactics and label non believers as heathens and try to write laws to control other people's lives.

We are the christian's. Lower your beliefs and surrender your minds. We will add your ideas and beliefs to our own. Persistence is futile.
In 80 years this will probably be their motto.

In a way, this proceeds naturally from the nature of their magical belief system. Some, or perhaps all (I'm not familiar with the theological differences between all the different factions) of them believe that getting into the magical after-life paradise, heaven, depends not on what you actually do, not on how virtuously you live your life, but simply on whether or not you believe that there is a magical being called God who sent his son Jesus to Earth to be executed. If you really believe this, it obviously inspires in you a desire to convert others. Because, otherwise, all those people who haven't adopted your belief system are going to suffer eternally. It clearly becomes your christian duty to proselytise and attempt to assimilate the non-believers.

I suppose quite a few magical belief systems have this proselytising imperative, but it seems strongest in christians. There are some magical belief systems in which it is completely absent, however. In Zoroastrianism, for example, there is no proselytising. You are usually either born into that faith or not. You can join it voluntarily but even that, I think, is not easy, and you would have to have found out about it yourself beforehand.

I think they are more like whorf. Mean well, very strong, bright as they need to be, and caught up in their own struggle.

Are you saying it is wrong for a Christian to behave as you describe?

You're talking about Hyperchristians, the ones who give the sane ones a bad name. Besides, it's not like atheists don't proselytize.

I think you refer to fundamentalists, and i don't think that this is unique to Christians. Most Christians do not behave in the manner that you describe. Fundamentalism in general is based on indoctrination, and not terribly tolerant of divergent thought, and are reliant on proselytizing. Except Jews, you never see even the most fundamentalist Jew going door to door.

I think most Christians are fundamentalist. You just don't see early indoctrination of children as a fundamentalist act, but I do.
