I agree on the basis of finding a cure for a disease. But I believe we must limit the cruelty we
subject the animals to. I would say its not morally acceptable to deliberately cause an animal an
extended amount of overwhelming pain.
We also have to consider, if testing on animals is morally acceptable, is creating a cure for
diseases acceptable. Through logic, finding a cure for cancer and other terrible diseases could
cause even greater destruction of human lives. If we keep curing such diseases and viruses they will
eventually adapt, and be formed into one we can't cure, and one that will be even more contagious
and threatening. And if we cure most diseases that deplete the human population, over population
could become a huge concern. |
