Can only agree. Same in most well developed countries, those who are gifted enough to have been
born there take it for granted, whereas those who had to struggle to get there do not. |

I agree with this statement to some point. For example illegal immigrants work longer hours for
cheaper pay because they have no other option on the other hand Americans under no conditions will
work the same way because they know better they know that they can get paid over time and they know
what a minimum wage is and they will not take any other offers. But back to the illegals they have
no other offers so they take what they can get. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they are
harder workers. |

Companies often prefer foreign labour because workers from other countries may be cheaper to employ
than Americans, but this preference has little to do with the fact that foreigners may be perceived
to do a better job. I think that white-collar Americans probably work longer days and enjoy fewer
holidays than most continental Europeans. In this sense, Americans have a lot in common with Brits,
who also seem to spend more time in a cubicle, behind a glaring computer screen, than their friends
across the Channel.
I think that Americans are right to fight for better working conditions and more perks. If a company
desires a productive workforce, then it will do whatever it can (within reason) to ensure that their
employees are satisfied. Much of this boils down to psychology and simply means that bosses should
make their workers feel valued and wanted. Regular compliments, an occasional free lunch, office
parties and other relatively inexpensive measures can help create a more efficient workforce. A few
companies even go the extra mile and offer office workers professional chair massages to keep them
stress free or other unexpected perks. |

The only difference between the Americans and foreigners is that the Americans demand respect and
want compensated for their hard work and ideas. Foreigners will take any job that comes along for
whatever pay. Granted, usually they do do a good job, they don't have the guts to demand respect.
Many people I talk to about hiring say that hiring Mexicans is the best way to go because they work
like dogs for no money. But, you do have to admit that most of them are illegal immigrants in this
country and that is why they work for the rates they do. And compared to the money they make in
Mexico, the little rate of pay they receive is huge. |

I think the bottom line is there's simply
desperate or hungry people out there
that are willing to get treated like pan handlers as long as it pays. Look how they treat
foreigners, Americans demand respect for the blood sweat and tears they sacrifice. |
