American Idol Is The Best Show Ever

Just a little tidbit...

I am a musician. I've been to hundreds of concerts. I like many different kinds of music. I think I'm best at arranging and would have liked to have been a producer.

I like Amercan Idol because I think the contestants are doing something which is incredibly difficult (not many singers have to sing out of their genre) and I like to see how they progress under the intense training they receive.

I actually prefer the competition to the tryouts. A person doesn't have to win. They hit the top 10, they go on tour and will make records. There are great musicians and singers everywhere. It's almost all about the breaks. American Idol gives a group of people a huge break. They have to earn it in many ways and I'm not subjected to alot of "reality" garbage along the way.

I like So You Think You Can Dance for the same reasons. I'm not a dancer but I appreciate people having to compete out of their areas of expertise.

And I've always got a kick out of people who are too badazz to appreciate pop music. I can rip the skin off their faces with my guitar rig but I think Madonna's Like A Prayer is a great song.
