The America's got talent was quite good but I have no time for X factor. |

Regardless of if you want to watch it or not, it is great exposure for those who are on it. Most,
if not all, of the contestants on that show that have ended up with careers after the show would
never have been able to make a living at doing what they love to do if not for that show. |

I love American Idol. The only complaint I have is Paula. She never really has anything to say
besides that she loves everyone. Randy and Simon are the ones with constructive criticism. The
contestants need to hear the truth every time they sing otherwise they cannot learn. I watch
American Idol every week though and am a true fan of Mr. Archuletta. I think someone that young with
that much talent is refreshing. |

I think that American Idol is an entertaining show...its just showing you people singing and its
addictive..but not in a bad way there is really no point in analyzing a television show |

I hate any show like that so: Pop idol, American idol, x-actor, Britain's got talent, America's got
talent. See a pattern emerging, America is copying us. It fails on both sides of the Atlantic |

All these singing shows are boring and have really no point to them. |

No. Have you even bothered to watch this season? Because I did and it made me want to puke/rip my
hair out/ bleed out my ears. American Idol is a fad that should have been over and done with after
the second season. |

That is a horrible show. It shouldn't even be allowed to go on air. I don't know how anyone(let
alone half the country) can watch it each and every night. |

American Idol promotes mediocrity and seems to discourage creativity among young performers. Rather
than performing old songs in new and innovative ways, American Idol's participants seem to focus
more on simply copying the performances and styles of popular singers. This essentially makes
American Idol precious little more than a televised Karaoke show, which aims to mimic and encourages
participants to check their creativity at the door. Additionally, American Idol has essentially
turned into a popularity contest where the "cutest" or most popular performer can easily beat a
rival who happens to be a much more skilled singer.
American Idol could be a lot more dynamic, if participants would be encouraged to write and perform
their own songs, or at least rework older songs in a way that better reflects their own
individuality. |

Every year American idol gets worse and its beginning to be just a popularity contest not a singing
contest |
