America Should Put Their Energy Towards Rugby Over Soccer.

Given the tough image America always try to portray I think Schools should put more energy in Rugby than soccer which would then fuel media covered professional leagues. There is more excitement watching rugby than soccer.

American football like gay rugby? LOL! Maybe the way some mincing foreigners play it, but not here in the states. An American football player would decimate a rugby player any day.

Flag football is for pansies; I think we can all agree there. You also have to take in consideration that hockey players can skate a hell of a lot faster than football players, and if you think that "heavy equipment" helps any when your slammed into the boards or into the ice or hit with a wooden hockey stick or a solid rubber puck you are sadly mistaken. I have been hit plenty of times, (against the boards which is the best one could hope for), when my heavy equipment did utterly nothing. In one hit, my steel face mask got pushed in like a cone and my elbow sustained a cut as deep to the bone. When I played football, against people who were over 3 times my weight, the pain didn't even compare.

And for "Football players are much bigger, faster, and stronger than the other sports."; there once was a show which put NHL, NFL, and all other national sport stars against each other, through physical tests (which is now cancelled), and almost nearly all time the NHL player would kick there butts. Of course the golf players were the worst.

Sports as a whole are a gross misuse of funds that are sorely needed elsewhere, especially in the field of education.

Endeavours which provide people with a fun hobby and give them a chance to be physically healthy are not a source of a gross misuse of funds. A gross misuse of funds would be all the money put towards the fast food industry. That money should be put towards aiding the field of education.

Pretty sure they have tried both and soccer just barely stays alive.

"Tough image"? That made me laugh. Have you seen the stupid American shows . America wants an "overly sensitive equals" (imagine MLK jr crying) image if you ask me.

There's a surplus of sports options anyway, they can toss both soccor and rugby out and it wouldn't really matter.
