Although People Can Drink Anything That Makes Them Happy, Fruity Sweet Pretty Cocktails Are Not Manly Drinks, I'm Sorry Guys.
I'd never tease you to your face for ordering a sissy cocktail, and there's a time and place for them (like on vacation), but seriously a strawberry margherita, pina colada, appletini, brandy alexander, sex on the beach, mimosa, or mojito, etc, are not manly drinks. Beer, wine, most anything neat or on the rocks, or with soda or tonic, and oh maybe the sour drinks or with bitters, those are manly drinks.

That is very true. I've seen some men grab for these drinks because they wanted something that they enjoyed the taste of. I myself am a fan of Goldschlager if we're talking hard liquor and Yuengling for beer.

The other problem with sweet drinks, besides the obvious lack of manliness, is that if you have a hangover from a sweet drink, its going to hurt that much worse than regular alcohol. I've gotten sick from vodka, but I've never felt as bad as I did drinking daquiries that my mom made at home for a party.

Although I have to admit...I sometimes see a daquiri as a slurpee with liquor...I mean, what's wrong with that? Slurpees are awesome and liquor? Also awesome. Just...perhaps not in public.

Irish whiskey is perfection everything else is a pale imitation. I don't begrudge you a couple of ice cubes but I like mine neat. Personally for me, the order of magnificence goes Middleton, Redbreast, Jamesons as funds allow.

I salute your choice, and you've definitely chosen what may be the manliest of the manly drinks. My only question, which is for my own education please, is the merit differences between Irish Whiskey, single malt Scotch, and Bourbon? And yeah I've looked it up so I sort of know but it seems to me the drinkers of each are fiercely loyal to their preferred version. Is the difference that extreme? Thanks

Ha, that's a good one, but you do realize Grenache is actually one of the three most widely planted wine grapes in the world? It's no different than if I'd called myself "Barley" or "Wheat" or "Rye" and was a beer or whiskey enthusiast.
