All Atheists Deep Down In Their Hearts Are Searching For Proof Of God!
Faith is a wonderful concept, blessed are the faithful, and the pure in heart.

Definitely, otherwise they'd just shutup, and keep quiet!

I absolutely agree! Well, not so much in their hearts but maybe in their sub consciousness'.

"All Atheists Deep Down In Their Hearts Are Searching For Proof Of God!"

Well, I wouldn't say that ALL of them are searching for God. I would feel more comfortable stating that MANY are seeking to prove or disprove the existence of a Creator. But to say ALL is a little much...in my opinion.

Not sure if I should be on this side or not. If there was a neutral or common ground column I would be in that one.

I know I am. I don't really think Atheism is a choice. I spent 10 years in Catholic school trying to convince myself. Don't blame the teachers, priests, or my parents. I am what I am, and you are what you are.

When you know the truth, the truth will set you free! That's emancipation! Only Faith will set you free. If you ain't got no Faith then you are flummoxed...;-O)

So exactly when do you think you'll be giving up these religious lies and figure out the truth?

You are describing agnostics. Atheists don't believe in God and have no interest in the idea of God. God simply doesn't figure in their lives. They have other things to do with their time.

When YOU go to church, do you spend your time saying, "We don't believe in Buddha?" You do not because denying Buddha is not a part of your religious need. Likewise, finding God is not part of an atheist's need.

My experience has been just the opposite. The atheists I have met have been searching for an escape from God, or escape from the truth of his existence. I hope I am wrong because God said that if we seek him we will find him. So I pray I am wrong.

Blind faith is just stupid. I think most Atheists are wishing deep down in their hearts that Religious people would see the flaws in religion, and actually consider questioning their beliefs.

Blind Faith was a good band. There's no such thing as blind faith. Blind belief, not blind faith.

There is no such thing as faith to an atheist. An atheist does not see the substance and evidence which are a part of the biblical definition of faith.

I’m not an atheist per se but the question of god’s existence while philosophically interesting has no bearing on how I live my life. The path I have chosen, the morals by which I choose to live my life come from my own choices. If god came down to me and said I was doing it wrong I’d tell him he wasn’t paying attention. And if proof that no god ruled the firmament came to me do you think I’d start playing like the cat was away? The relevant question to me is the difference you make here and now, all that other foolishness will sort itself out whether you figure it out or not. Spend your time well.

There is no evidence to support a conclusive statement that all atheists are searching for god from anywhere within their being.

Faith is not a concept.

I have to agree with the last two.

I’m not sure I get the point of this debate. It’s the same as saying all theists deep down in their heart are actually searching to disprove the existence of a god.

I'll let the results of this debate speak for themselves (this time), but I just want to add that many people believe in God, but not the King James Bible version of God, or even the Christian version of God, but are not "atheists" by any means either.

It might be true that atheists are interested in hearing the "proof" of god that so many suggest they have as it is an interesting subject, and something that has made a huge impact of human history. I am yet to hear any evidence that is even remotely convincing. The truth is many theists are the ones desperately searching for proof of god. This is how they operate, they have a pre-determined conclusion and seek anything that may help them feel more secure in that belief. It is rare that they look at it with an open mind and conclude that there is a god, in particularly a god as described by one of the worlds religions.

Difficult to argue with "many theists". Would rather you say "some" (that could be many). It's better than "most" though.

I think my evidence is remotely convincing (although "remotely convincing" is a fun term).

I am against this debate, I do think that all people question their beliefs at times. However this is as much true (probably more true) for believers than non-believers.

However what I find quite hard to believe is the role that God (or whatever name you put to it) plays in the lives of, not only theists, but athletes too. Religion is easily the most debated topc, and with religion the existence of God is the most debated topic.

Not just on this site of course, but in many situations. People are obsesses with either trying to prove that God exists or with arguing that he almost certainly doesn't. The sales of the God Delusion, for example, highlight how much we are interested in God, or the concept of God.

I'm not searching for proof of God, I'm simply trying to live a good life and have fun.
Perhaps my subconscious is, but that's something I can't speak for.

Blind faith isn't a wonderful concept, it's an idiotic concept and I think most believers realize it. That's why they're so bothered when people challenge their heartfelt beliefs, if they were really secure in what they believed and were absolutely convinced it was true, they wouldn't freak out when someone suggested otherwise.

Yet they do.

No, I don't think so, but they do spend a lot of time trying to convince themselves they are right.

What a nonsense. Atheists are no more insecure in their beliefs than believers.

If the reiligous were so sure of their beliefs they would not be so quick to jump down peoples throats as soon as they challenge them. A clear sign of insecurity. If they merely walked away or remained calm I still wouldn't believe but I would have more respect for them than those that get so defensive. Most atheist remain calm until they are attacked by Christians trying to force reiligon on them which they claim to be so sure about.
To add I don't think atheist are searching for anything they wish to live their lives and really don't think about a divine being.

Ha! And all religous zealots deep in their hearts are troubled by doubts. Their iron grip on their beliefs is evidence they're actually scared of what it would mean if in fact they are not right. If they were truly at peace with their beliefs they wouldn't be agitated, pushy, inflammatory, they would just be happy.
