It causes nothing but harm. I would love for it to be illegal but some would view that as a
personal freedom which I also firmly believe in. |

Marijuana can also be used for medical purposes but it is illegal. |

I think it would be even harder to prohibit now than it was then. |

Alcohol should not be illegal, however they could control it so much better if they would just
reform some laws. I honestly don't think a specific drinking age law even makes sense. People make
stupid decisions or smart decisions based on who they are, not necessarily how old hey are. Does
someone wake up on their 21st birthday and all of a sudden know how to handle themselves when drunk
or know their limits? Of course not. I think when you become 18, you can enroll in an alcohol
program that teaches you all the effects and laws involving alcohol, and the fines and penalties for
breaking said laws. And I think after passing the class you have an Alcohol behavioral record.
With a clean alcohol record (no DWI, or PI or anything like that) then it will be o.k for you to
purchase alcohol. However when you get arrested for driving drunk or anything involving drinking,
you will face the normal charges, and you will have a mark on your alcohol permit that you cant buy
alcohol for 6 months to a year depending on the severity of the crime. The next time it happens you
get a one to two year ban on alcohol consumption. A third time and you get it revoked for 5-10
years. If a person were to ever kill someone under the influence then they would have it
permanently revoked. No buying, no drinking, no possession. That's just what I think is a way better
way to control this situation |

Some people believe that alcohol causes nothing but harm and that mind altering substances are bad.
I think they have as much proof as the people who say that women have original sin and need to be
controlled.
The only way to learn self restraint is by experiencing. Even if it is all bad, denying the right
to experience pain/suffering/harm is still denying a right and it takes away someones ability to
learn from pain/suffering/harm.
I think a very similar thing happens with over protective parents not wanting tag and competition in
classes so children won't be pressured but they take away the fundamental right to fail and learn
from failure and better themselves. |

Drinking is part of our society, we have people from nations where alcohol is very popular. The same
thing WILL happen again. It's hard to stop. |
