Most important? More accurately he's the most well known, at least in the US. Scandanavian and
French politicians have done much more to address the problem.
The Norweigians have created an entire network of hydrogen refueling stations for cars, buses and
trucks, and the hydrogen is split from water using hydroelectric power, i.e. It's clean. Other
northern European countries are looking at ways to follow them.
As for the French, they are almost completely independent of oil, despite having no oil reserves of
their own. Their politicians smartly pushed for nuclear power more than 20 years ago and it has
paid off.
Those who actually get something done are better examples than those who just talk, but at least
Gore is making people think, which is something they weren't doing.
