Even if they wanted to lower their prices the Budget airlines are in a bit of a catch 22
situation.
They cater for two classes of passengers. They make their money on the first class or business class
passengers. Sometimes they can upgrade passengers. But keep in mind for those who paid full fair to
travel in first class it is a bit unfair.
Consequently planes often leave half full. |

Just think, less airline travel, more car travel...which is worse? |

I'm a bit mixed on this one, because if it were cheaper, more flights would be flown, and more
pollution would be spewed into the atmosphere. Keeping in mind that aviation is extremely bad for
the environment, I would prefer air travel to be more expensive, making it more exclusive, and
preserving the environment more.
However, I also think that visiting other countries is a great experience, and as such want everyone
to visit abroad. |

Aeroplane travel should be made much more expensive by having heavy taxes imposed on it by
governments.
It contributes greatly to global warming and diminishes air quality hugely. It also creates vast
amounts of noise which disturb many people, particularly those living close to airports, obviously,
but also those living on the flightpaths. If I recall correctly, there was a study that concluded
40% of the British population experience severe levels of noise disturbance caused by aircraft. It
has been demonstrated that this noise can have serious health effects, raising blood pressure and
inducing heart attacks, for example, and also that it reduces a child's ability to learn.
Mass tourism is not a good thing either. Tourism is grotesque and unseemly. It causes places to lose
their distinctive character and refocus their economies on pandering to foreign hordes. |
