Adults Are Just Like Teens When It Comes To Crushes And Love.
People Think Teens Can't Handle Love, But Adults Are Exactly The Same When It Comes To Infatuation And Love. They, However, Have No Limitations As To Where The Relationship Can Go. They can be just as immature too.
I'm glad I wasn't burdened by love as a teen. Experimenting with simulating and provoking
infatuation was chancy enough.
In high school, your friends' opinions predominantly influence who you date, even if you think the
handsome quarterback is kinda dumb or the non-entity on the sidelines is really funny. You want
your own individuality to coalesce before entering a symbiotic relationship.
It wasn't until I was 23 that I realized that some people who seem attractive are rotten inside,
some people who are wonderful don't fit your nature or your path, and you can't project a fantasy on
a real person and expect them to adapt to your expectations. It took a little longer to realize
that a real relationship takes work and can't be treated frivolously.
It's ironic that women become more choosy even as their bait becomes less enticing. Or maybe not.
A guy smitten by a fickle, frivolous 18-year-old isn't likely to appeal to a 27-year-old woman.
Adults can make bad choices in love, but at least it's their own choice.
