Adam And Eve Did Not Actually Exist.
The very concept that the Adam and Eve story actually explains the origins of man is absurd to any educated individual but I want to know who on here actually believes it.

Everyone knows that Odin and his brothers created the world from the sea and then created Ask and Embla the first two humans.

Adam and Eve, Eve came from Adams flesh, and then later in the bible people appear, a classic case of incest.

Thank you, someone who knows what they're talking about. Adam and Eve didn't exist because that would go against the theory of evolution which is a hell of a lot more believable then that bullshit

The Adam and Steve myth is as big a lie as "christian morality". Neither exists.

Don't believe it i don't like how people say that they were the first human beings to step in to this world cuz that's not true because then how would "Jesus" make humans if there already had been humans before his time this is too confusing that's why i quit believing somethings in this world are meant not to be known

I don't believe that people are so naive. The story of adam and eve is simply a tale for young children in a Religious Studies class. Are people really saying that all of the work done by scientists such as Darwin, about evolution are all to be thrown aside because of a fictitious story in the bible? If there really was a god, wouldn't he have already interveined and saved people from famine and suffering? I understand that people turn to religion for comfort through difficult times, but religion isn't everything. Praying to god hasn't stopped Global Warming has it?

I don't believe that Adam and Eve existed, even though I do gravitate to Christianity. Adam and Eve are two characters who appear in the Book of Genesis, but there are a number of signs that the story told here was meant to be taken symbolically. For example, in Hebrew, "Adam" literally means "man," and as such it may not actually have been used as a proper name. Adam would appear, therefore, not to have been a physical being, but rather a symbol of humanity in a much more general sense.

Many scholars point out that "Eve" may actually mean "living" or possibly "life," and as such, this would not actually be a human's proper name, but rather a metaphorical expression. In fact, most of the time Eve is not referred to by her name, but simply as "the woman." I would argue that the author is simply trying to make broader points about humanity, but did not intend for readers to take the story of Adam and Eve literally.

To believe in god and to use him for solace, comfort and guidance in times of need (like my dear Gran, a very intelligent woman) is one thing. Although I don't subscribe to his existence. But to believe the story of Adam and Eve is utter madness and i find it unreal that anyone would believe it in this day and age

I totally agree. I think this story is becoming less accepted as time goes on and people come to their senses. But I have heard what appear to be arguments that the first 2 "humanoids" would have been Adam and Eve. These argument obviously are made by people who don't understand evolution, but hey, at least they're getting close!

To be fair what you believe doesn't make a blind bit of difference to what is true.

Adam and Eve did exist. Every story in the Bible is true. The entire story about Adam and Eve, the garden, the snake, and the expulsion is true. If it was not true, then we probably would not have temptation and sin today. It is amazing that you would even question any story in the Bible. If you believe that Adam and Eve did not exist, what is your explanation for how man and woman got put onto Earth? Why do people sin today? It is sad to see that many people do not have faith. One day, you will be crying and wishing that you did not have these crazy anti-Bible beliefs when you are burning in hell with no way out.

I will take my chances mate. I mean the worst that could happen is that I would end up in heaven with all the fruitloops like you. That is my idea of hell anyway so it is lose for me.

Also I find it remarkable that you wouldn't even question any story in the bible. Even if you concluded they were all true at least question them before making your decision.

Why was the snake there by the way, what was his role in it all, please remind me.

I can't believe people are falling to this trend of non-believer's, it disturbs me to think someone would actually would think that Adam and eve did not exist just because you lost your faith and live in this world where you have no hope does not mean your right 80 percent of this world believes in what your debate is against and well i don't know what to tell you. Do you believe there is a hell or do you choose to be blind what do you believe in nothing there has to be some kind of belief in you and that belief is Adam and eve .

No I don't believe there is a hell, just as I don't believe in Valhalla, I am an atheist.
Sticking to the topic, do you then believe the stuff about the snake. Just how old would you say the world is?
