Abortion Is Not Wrong
Abortion should not be seen as something that is wrong. It is not even murder as the fetus is not yet considered human. Also people happily kill animals (including the royal family when they go hunting for leisure) and they are already born and living. So really abortion should not be considered wrong.

Another debate about abortion for 12-year-olds was posted just a couple days ago, maybe even yesterday. Why did you post another one so soon?

I think it is a life and in principal I am against abortion,......
But I think it is for the one who carries the child to decide.
No one can be forced to carry a child to term against their will. Who knows what measures they might resort to......:-(

I believe abortion will always be wrong, I don't care if you argue that it is still a fetus, it is in a female's body and will develop into a human being! Though, I don't judge people who do commit abortion, for it is their bodies and I believe there will be one day when they will take a moment to think... What if I did have my child? And at this point they will regret it. So my best advice is that if you plan to get an abortion get INFORMED!!

I believe in the that all life is sacred, however in some cases abortion seems to be the 'right' way to go. Eg: If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant she should have the right NOT to carry the rapist's child(tho it is my opinion that a child should not be punished for the crimes of its father) or for medical reasons such as a pregnancy that would result in the death of the mother or both mother and child. Personally i wouldn't abort my child, but every woman has the right to decide.

There's nothing wrong with abortion, in and of itself. Certainly there are irresponsible people who use it wrongly, but that can be said of just about anything. There are times that abortion is the best available option for a woman who cannot or does not want to remain pregnant and she has every right to control her body as she sees fit.

Adoption isn't an option for a number of reasons. First, it requires a woman to remain pregnant against her will, which is completely unacceptable. Second, we can't find homes for all the kids in foster care now, what makes you think we could do it if we added 1.4 million new kids per year? There are many kids who will never be adopted in the system now and that number grows annually. It's lunacy to think it'll get magically fixed.

Just a small point, even though I agree with your basic position : my understanding is that there is an overwhelming demand for the adoption of newly-born babies. It's older children who find it difficult to find adoptive parents.

Well said. It's fine (but foolish) to use abortion as a form of birth control as long as the abortion is performed early in the term of the pregnancy. This needs to be affirmed over and over so that the religious kooks don't gain an ascendancy in the public debate just through sheer persistence and stridency.

Many people live in economic circumstances which would make it almost impossible for a child to be reared in comfort. Are these people who oppose abortion so hysterically willing to vote for generous social welfare provisions that would make it easy for any mother to raise a child? Of course not. These same people are the ones who denounce any social protection programs as examples of evil socialism. Abortion went down when Clinton was in office, fools. It goes down when there is a left-winger in charge because he improves the lot of the less well-off. It goes up when there's another wacko right-winger in charge, however anti-abortion he is.

I am sorry you have such hard feelings for those of us who love all life. By your
way of thinking we will soon be able to kill any of our babies as long as we can
justify it. I volunteer to help these woman (what ever their choice). I had a foster
daughter. What have you done?

Abortion is wrong because it is a baby. Can you honestly tell me when you
think a baby becomes a baby? If you learn the way your body works, you
will know. By the time a woman knows she is pregnant the baby has
a beating heart and nervous system (so it feels). It becomes its own
one cell at conception. Have you ever seen a ultrasound? A baby can
live out side the womb at l pound. So since it is a baby, there is no
way to justify killing it. I have so many testimonies from women about
how abortion affected them (physically and emotionally). Our Creator God
says he knew us before we were formed. How marvelous is HE? I know
3 women who were told to get an abortion for their lives or their babies life. They
all three choose life and all mothers and babies are healthy. So life
is in God's hands not ours. If it is a baby there is no middle ground.
A lady who had 4 or more abortions and ran an abortion clinic, says
abortion is about money. I say it is a selfish thing to do. What we
have to teach our children is abstinence because it is the right thing
to do and only safe sex. Also, being pregnant is not the worst thing
that can happen, it is getting a STD that kills, or getting their hearts
broke over and over.

Abortion is wrong!! In the eyes of God, it is God that chooses to take a life not anyone else. God has made that particular pregnancy happen for a reason and so for the woman to take that away is a sin. It is taking a human life for the moment the heart begins to beat, the foetus has a spirit which means it is human.
I am proud to say that i would never have an abortion.

You definitely shouldn't have said you were proud. Bad move.

If "god chooses to take a life not anyone else" then either god took the life of the fetuses or they weren't alive.

Your next sentence is insane. God has made cancer so to take that away is sin.

You have no evidence that a spirit exists when a heart begins to beat. I'll even accept a Bible verse for that one.

Then we get to the pride thing. Question your teaching. There is evidence in the Bible that would suggest your pride is worse than someone elses problems.

I am against it! When I look at my grandson and realize my daughter was on the table before I stopped her. He's a math prodigy and everyday I am amazed at his love and intelligence. His father is a loser but my grandson isn't. He making his own life and showing how wonderful he is.

I am against abortion. Bottom line, it is cruel and wrong. Unborn fetuses have rights to and do not deserve to be killed by an unloving and uncaring mother. If the mother does not want the baby, she should give it up for adoption because there are many people out there who would love to have a baby and they would love and care for it as it deserves. Abortion is murder and women who have an abortion should be tried for murder. It is sad to see so many women out there using abortion as a form of birth control. People need to step up and stop abortion. Many innocent children are losing their lives. They do not deserve to be murdered in such as cruel and violent way. Abortion is murder and it is wrong.

That is not even the question you guys.

I see no problem for the girl consulting her parents, but the ultimate decision is hers.

Abortion is a non-issue. Unwanted pregnancy is. If there were no unwanted pregnancies, would anyone be asking for an abortion? Only a liar or idiot would say yes.

So why are there unwanted pregnancies? There are the reasons:

1) The mother's life is at risk.
2) Rape or incest.
3) The feotus has no chance of survival (e.g. A non-functioning brain).
4) Multiple children which endanger each other (e.g. Aborting part of a set of octuplets saves the rest).
5) Poverty of the mother or couple, including abandonment by the father.
6) Failure of birth control methods.
7) A lack of sex education.
8) Unplanned pregnancy through knowingly unprotected sex.

The only one that is not a valid reason for wanting an abortion is the last - people who know better but have unprotected sex, or worse "change their minds" as if a child were an accessory. But since the last case makes up only the tiniest fraction of pregnancies, it's negligible.

Despite lies told by the extreme right, the issue is not about "protecting life", it's about controlling women. Women who choose to have an abortion don't do it because they're casual and careless about the decision. They do it because all the options to carry the feotus to term aren't feasible. But by preventing women from controlling their own bodies, the reichwing can possibly impose its will on women in other areas - working, voting, day care, health, etc.

Deal with the real issues if you want society to stop abortion. Making abortion illegal solves the problem as well as making coughing illegal will stop people from catching a cold.

 1. And why should the child be punished?
2. Nice try, that is hyper rare
3. No reason to kill it.
4. Why kill the octuplets for something they had no control over?
5. Get out your bloody checkbook and support the women
6. Translation: Self-centered convenience
7. How about moral education instead?
8. No excuse.

Despite lies told by leftist nuts, it's about protecting life, not "controlling women" or $hit like that.

Abortion is murder. God says its murder. He defines it as taking away life that he has given. It is not our choice to kill the child, even if it is still a fetus. If the woman is raped she should try to get help or put it up for adoption

And give up her life for nine months,
with the hope that she can peice up her life afterwards.
to reduce herself to a psycotic state after being raped, so a child she hate can live, because god decided that she cannot get an abortion...
seems completely logical

have you ever been raped, or know anyone who has ever been raped?

You say that killing something that is not yet a human cannot be murder. You are right in a way but wrong in a very serious way you are stopping the life of a child that was meant to be for this world, if the child was not planned then there are options for the child when it is born like adoption, i think it is only fair to give a chance to a child that could have an amazing life, if not then let the child experience that you are not doing it a favour by not giving it the chance, and what gives you the right to decide who lives and who dies?
