A Person Should Never Take Their Own Life!
I think it is breaking a commandment to take a life, even your own. It is cowardly and selfish to those left behind to deal with the problems that caused a person to do it in the first place!I am referring to people with no physical problems.

Life is tough. Some can deal with it and some can't but life is worth living in spite of all the let downs, trials and tribulations. Sometimes even intervention doesn't help because if someone is determined to take his/her own life they will succeed.

I fully agree, a person that commits suicide is a coward, and fails to realise the consequences of their actions on loved ones. Their is so much help out there these days to help anyone suffering. I think it's sad that a person feels so low that suicide is the only way out.

In summation, what you just said is that you think it's sad to feel so low that suicide is the only way out but anyone who reaches the point that suicide is the only way out is a coward.

Nice of you to feel sad about it. Hope that's not an inconvenience.

If someone is so insecure that they would take their own life then they should see a counselor or a lobotomist.

Froggy does so agree that killing oneself is wrong. No, she does not think they are selfish, however they are wrong in some way for doing something.
Ipn39
does point out to be talking about people without a physical condition. Like an injury that'll kill you or poison of some type.

Without being spiritual here Froggy will try to explain why suicide is not a very good thing at all.
For one it leaves too much grievance behind, I read in an 'AGAINST' comment that as long as it wasn't hurting anyone it was okay. Froggy says that it does hurt someone, both the suicidal person and their relatives are deeply hurt; would that be worth it?
Kill yourself just so you know that everyone will be crying?

Some have commited suicide because a loved one died. Froggy has run into a few people that actually agree with something like that, she does not concure.
Say Froggy found her soulmate and knew absolutely would do anything for them. One day he is diagnosed with cancer and dies in the next year. Now Froggy is sad and feels so alone in the world now that her soulmate is dead. So she wants to kill herself.
Than froggy thinks of all the widows and such out there who are still living productive lives whether they have families or not to stay and take care of. Froggy thinks of her beloved soulmate and knows that they would cry in afterlife she were just to suddenly pop over because she killed herself.
If other people could do it than why not Froggy? And besides, no one wants to see tears running down their beloved's cheeks right? Even in death.

Mentally ill; if one feels that they are suddenly going to rampage and kill people than killing themselves is the answer?
Froggy thinks they should find a friend or go to the police and tell them that they are mentally unstable and would like to be assisted somewhere, it's as easy as one-two-three, once they have come to the conclusion that they are becoming dangerous to the public they should push themselves from the public. Mental institutes are not as bad as people think they are. (Yes, Froggy knows from experiance due to an Aunt's escapades some time ago)

Has Froggy covered it all? Or are there more questions?

I don't think anyone should kill themselves. All of your peers, your parents, invested so much time and love into you that you don't want to have it all be in vain.

I don't agree with killing yourself. That is horrible if you feel like you have to kill yourself. Someone will miss you no matter what you think. Talk to someone if you are thinking bout killing yourself. We all at one point or another have thought bout that but you need to keep your head up and realize always after a rainy day the sun will be shining soon!

A life is always a precious gift and it should not be terminated in any course of time and circumstance. A person should not be allowed to take his own life as there are many people around him who care for him. His death could gift a lot more pain to those who are still alive and think for him. Whatever the situation comes to his way, he should face it boldly. Taking own life would be a selfish as well as a cowardly deed. The person who feels that the ending of his or her life would throw away all the problems should think positively because who can say that life would not gift him or her a very surprising moment one day? That day he might feel like live life lively again. So don’t get frustrated, just take the challenge and be honest to your life.

I would like to quote a point that Cephus brought up, "So long as they take their own life in a manner not harmful to anyone else . . ."
It should be noted that there is absolutely no way individuals cannot affect the world around them. I will address any circumstances contradicting this. . .

I very strongly disagree with "best4Write" and I agree with "Bulldog". Only God has a right to decide who lives and who dies. I believe that we do not own our bodies and we have no right to destroy or alter them in any way. God is the owner of our bodies and he is the only one who can decide what happens to them. That is why he decides who gets sick and who gets better. To commit suicide is breaking the commandment, "Thou shall not kill" and if you do commit suicide, you cannot repent the sin because you are no longer alive. So, I believe people who commit suicide do go to hell. There is medication to help with depression. There are cures for that. Suicide is not an excuse or an option. No one should harm the human body--for no reason.

It is selfish to give up on life so easily. Life has its thick and thins and our endurance is tested in the process. It is believed that the biggest reason given for suicide is depression. If that is true we can safely attribute the weak friendships and family relationships for depression that may lead to something as drastic as suicide.

People who have friends and family close to them for comfort and support survive these phases of depression. Today, a lot of psychiatrists offer professional help to people who are feeling suicidal. No problem too big to take your life over.

I am definitely for this debate. I do not believe that anyone has a right to take their own life. Only God can decide to lives and who dies. When a person takes their own life, they leave a big mess behind. Not only are the family and friends sadden by the lost, they also have to figure out why the person committed suicide, they have to pay for the funeral and burial, and they have to resolve any problems or issues left behind by the person who died. It is not fair for the family. Yes, the person who committed suicide was probably hurting, but by them dying, they have transferred their pain, suffering and hurt on to their friends and family members for a life time.

Ah, how complex suicide is! Such a strange and dark and mysterious act.
Why would anyone do something so permanent as to blast out their brains or slice their wrists or swallow a bottle of pills?
Just because YOU might not see how a person could be so desperate doesn't mean it's a totally foolish act. We've all contemplated suicide and we have a different relationship it.
Don't judge others simply because they took their lives a little early. You don't know what it's like to walk in their shoes.
In addition, many people have un-diagnosed mental conditions...
Bottom line: Never, ever, judge

I disagree, for starters you go on about how it is cowardly; could you do it? Could you face the abyss that is Death? I highly doubt it.
It's a choice and no one can fully understand the workings of another's mind. You can't see the world through their eyes. Suicide isn't and escape, not really. It the hardest choice you could ever make. Next time, think before you think of something as cowardly or wrong.
Just so everyone knows I'm not promoting suicide, I'm just thinking about it from the darker side.

I think that you are the most sick person ever.. If a person isn't happy with their lives because of some mental disorder and they have no other option in their mind apart from end their misery, what gives you the right to say that some book that you have been brain washed with says you can't do it. Human rights dear, every has the right to life and the right to death, some book that has brain washed you doesn't give you the right to say you cannot end your own life. Pathetic debate and a very insensitive one.

Acceptable self-termination scenarios: 1) You're losing your mind and you know any second you're going to start killing innocent people (consider that the becoming a flesh eating zombie scenario), 2) Bad guys make a deal that if you'll sacrifice yourself they will spare everyone you love, 3) Your heart will be given to someone essential who needs to live on (would you give your heart to save a young Jesus Christ's life?), 4) You have been exposed to a high toxin which is guaranteed to kill you in 24 hours in a slow agonizing brutal death and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it, 5) You're pregnant with the antichrist.

It can go on and on.

Quality of life is an important factor. Being alive is not any good if you're locked in a box and tortured for 80 years until you die of natural causes. And a kind and loving God will weigh extenuating circumstances when evaluating all the choices you made in life, including your death.

Why shouldn't they take they're own life? I agree with snipex.... Not every1 follows the 10 commandments.. And when you are suicidal its the last thing u think of! You cant class suicide as cowardly and selfish.. Because they must of been at such a low point.. So unhappy and realy thought the only way out was death...and they really did have enuf of life...if they had help when they were alive.. Suicide wouldn't of happened.... Its such a sad and lonely way 2 leave the earth... And there was no intention of hurting the people they left behind... There's reasons behind every suicide.. And when you are that unhappy..and that dark... You feel there's nothing left 2 live for.... So you cant say a person should never take their own life...

Who are you to tell someone not to kill themselves?

If someone truly wants to kill themselves, they are better to do so.

And not everybody adheres to the 10 commandments, nor even respects them as true.

Not following the commandments doesn't make you a bad person, being immoral does.

Keep religious filth out of the discussion until you prove a "god" exists. Until you do, it's an invalid whine (and does not deserve to be called an argument).

Quality of life matters. A person who has no comfort anymore and leads a life of constant physical pain or suffering, or a person with a terminal disease, have knowledge and experience that no rabid and smug godbot can ever appreciate. Until one is in that situation, one is not fit to dictate how other people should live or die.

First of all the only people who get depressed are really selfish people who care nothing about anyone else. It is completely insane to take your own life. Its another way the devil wins people into the fiery pits of hell! Now someone that doesn't understand what they are doing is different. But someone who is just tired of being in so much pain and being unhappy, is ridiculous to try to defend. I have been depressed but I have never been selfish enough to take my life. People don't think about how that would hurt other people when they make those kinds of choices. And people can use god in arguments if they want to....They have just as much right to express their opinion as these so called evolutionists do!

The only way committing suicide could be qualified as unjust is if either: A supreme being exists and thinks it's wrong, or if it hurts someone(i.e. Family who would grieve). If a person believes that the joys in life are not worth experiencing if couples with the lows, that should be their choice to make.

Cowardly - I don't think so.....

If someone takes their life - there are reasons. Mental disorders etc...

Speaking as someone who went through a phase of severe depression and considered suicide, you surely can't know what it's like. Life feels empty, and you think that you'd be doing others a favor.

I didn't kill myself (rather obvious isn't it), but if i had, I'm telling you now, it's in no way cowardly. Ending your life because you can't go on - is a hard decision to make. It's like leaping into darkness.

Anyone who thinks suicide is cowardly or selfish obviously knows nothing about the situation. To want to kill yourself in a general term shows some form of psychological problem, just like any other illness that is life threatening. A cancer patient who chooses not to have treatment, is not a coward of selfish. Neither is someone who attempts suicide from suffering depression. Period.

That's for each individual to decide. No one or no thing was asked to become part of the world or existence. So they should be able to choose if they want to continue being part of existence. That's the one thing we have control of is deciding to end it when we want or to let life go where it will. And sorry but commandments are just for people to stupid to live a moral life.

ITS NOT YOUR LIFE!!! Who are you, who is anyone to say you can't commit suicide! Its not your life, its not your choice and its not your pain. People kill themselves mostly because they hate their life and they want out. They don't know how to control their pain. It is their choice to decide whether or not to take their own life, not any one elses.

We can dislike it all we want and we can disagree with it until we ourselves die, but that doesn't change the fact that it's going to happen. Some people just can't deal with life, I suppose. But who are we to say that they can't kill themselves? It is their choice, after all. Yes, it is unfortunate that someone would commit suicide, but it could be worse; at least the negativity inside them wasn't improperly channeled into anger and they didn't go out and open fire in the middle of a crowded public place. People interpret things differently; I suppose we can be glad that we are still alive, at least.

I don't think anyone who hasn't found themselves in the lowest point in their life with no hope and no eyes to see a better future, should comment on this.

There are so many reasons in today's world that cause people to be so depressed. Now granted, the bullcrap about my boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with me so I'll kill myself... Now that's ridiculous. However, there are some serious issues that people have to either deal with or escape from.

There are so many deep issues, most intelligent people here could assume what I mean, so as not to name them all out, that sometimes a person can't handle them anymore. Therapy has become a living joke, medications either work a little or not at all, and support groups are dwindling away. Due to the prejudiceness this country still faces, many people are scared to death to come out with their problems.

So many people are left turning into themselves for help, and many times that is not enough. There is no one person out there, for many of these people who take their life, that can say they understand exactly what that person went through and would have chosen a different way. It is impossible to share feelings because we all are born different.

I don't think it's fair to comment on suicide being wrong if you've never had something happen to you that would force you to become so desperate. And for those of you who haven't, I truely hope you never do because it's no place you ever want to be.

Well first let me start by saying that i don't agree with suicide but i do believe that a person has the right to make the choice for themselves. My fiance had killed himself and i was left with a huge load to deal with and sort out afterwards.
But looking back i can only believe that it was meant to happen because the impact that he made on everyone around him would have never been if it weren't for the tragic circumstances that brought them about.
Only the person knows the pain and emotional distress, and only they know what they are able to deal with mentally.
