There are countless ways for nations to fall. Sure, the people voting themselves money could be a
way. But you'll find deficit spending to finance wars and also pissed off publics not willing to
take the abuse of the rich and powerful anymore are two far more prevalent reasons in history why
nations have fallen. What you're witnessing now in the US is more akin to my scenario than to your
claim we're failing because the people are voting themselves money.
I don't see any evidence for this. The US voted for LBJ and it's still going strong. The UK voted
for 'The People's Budget' in 1909 and it strengthened greatly afterwards. Sweden has had a left-wing
government almost continually since 1917 and is the most heavily taxed nation on earth and yet has
the 6th highest HDI and is the 4th most competitive in the world.
You can argue for and against left wing and right wing forever. But to say that one destroys the
nation is nonsensical and can be refuted quickly with undeniable facts, it took me all of 2 minutes
to write and research this.
lol. The U.S. is 'still going strong'? Over ten trillion dollars in debt to foreign government is 'going strong'? Let's see what our grandchildren think about the 'strength' of this nation.
I would not describe the U.K. or Sweden 'strong'. The Brit's use to have an empire. No more. You assumed I was talking about money only anyway. Forty years ago we went to the Moon but could America do it now? Sixty years ago America fought a worl war on two fronts. Could we do it now? We have become weak and self-serving.
