Prince Philip has a good sense of humour, but not everyone else shares it. He went to China and
joked with a bunch of British students, saying they would all become "slitty-eyed" if they stayed
there much longer. He also said "If it has four legs and is not a chair, has wings and is not an
aeroplane, or swims and is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it."
While touring an electronics factory, he joked that one unsophisticated looking fuse box "looked as
if it had been put in by an Indian". When he was in Papua New Guinea, he joked with a British
student "You managed not to get eaten then?" |

Don't you think, though, that the suggested character trait could lead to insensitivity?
Besides, a 'good' sense of humour is subjective, so not everyone could empathise and react
positively to the wit in question. |
