There are many valuable treasured tales about dogs and their faithful companion to their owners.
Dogs are a man's best friend. |
| |

|
Some say it's darwinism, i say otherwise. My dog is my best friend. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
That kind is true cause animals do protect humans. |

I think so! I think it is amazing the bond that grows between a dog and it's owner. So yes.... A dog
is a man's best friend. |

|

Totally agree, my dog is my best friend, he keeps me company, walks with me ,he loves to play. My
life would be so in complete without him!! |

Dogs are awesome. I have three and they never let me down, never judge me, never get in a mood with
me, they'll always be around if i need them, always up for a game of 'give my sock back dam it!',
and If i had no one else left in the world I know I'd still have them. |

I think that dogs are mans best friend because what else is going to on long walks with you a snake! |

“A friend in need is a friend indeed.” There is no doubt that a dog can be asserted as a man’s
true friend. Whenever you need a supporting companion to get rid of your loneliness, a dog would be
an apt choice for it. It is a never failing friend without any allegation whatever you behave with
it. It keeps itself always busy to make you feel safe. Be it in your home or being with you outside,
your dog can produce its life to save you from any enemy that comes to your way. Can you get this
mental assurance from any of your human friend of these days? Your closest companion who can not
speak, can not express its feeling is always ready to take the bullet in its chest to give you life.
Isn’t it enough to show what a dog can be in your life? |

I agree because i have two dogs and i love them to pieces. They can sence when something is wrong
and go to you and comfort you. If i stay in my room for too long without seeing them they come
upstairs because they miss me.
When i come home they are waiting by the door for me.
I couldn't live without them :P |

Yes, definitely. This one is a no-brainer, there’s no doubt whatsoever a dog is your best
friend.
They never nag you, except to go for a walk. No matter how late you are or what you have been doing,
your dog is always pleased to see you.
They are intelligent, fun, a good way to get exercise and have a sense of humour. After owning four
dogs (three of which lived to the ripe old age of 14) during my adult life, I can say without
hesitation a dog is a person’s best friend.
As Will Rogers once said, “If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they
went.” |

I love my dog he's awesome. I have Asperger's syndrome (mild form of autism) and was always picked
on, but I always went home to my dog after school. She was never mean to me. |

Yes I agree with the statement "a dog is a person's best friend" as I think dogs are like humans in
many ways, and when treated rightly they will treat you back with respect (although, not always!)
However, I do think that dogs will be a "mans" best friend for eternity, they are unique animals who
look after us, although we may not always see it. |

Dogs are the very best friend anyone can have.
They are capable of a loyalty and affection that many people are incapable of .
Evidence for the relationship between people and dogs is shown in the archaeological record from
over eight thousand years ago.
One grave in Sweden dating to around four thousand years ago revealed the body of a man and his dog.
The dog had the most elaborate grave goods, whist the man had few! The author of a paper on this
excavation entitled it ' Small Man, Big dog'.
People have no right to abuse the wonderful relationship any animal offers offers and dogs tend to
be so good at bonding with people.
I tend to think that in many cases, yes , dogs can be even better friends than humans. The bond is
there for ever despite all. I believe that dogs are capable of deep love for their humans and this
is based on observations over many years and a deep respect and love for these animals. If people
took the time to understand and respect dogs they would perhaps see many advantages to having a
canine best friend. |

|
Yeah - who would ever have a cat |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Yeah, I would definitely have to agree with that. I have to say though, if we humans were
water-living creatures, then it would have to be the Dolphin! But, we aren't, so yes, definitely the
dog.
I can remember when I was a kid, my dog would always be there for me, happy as anything to see me,
never asked me to do chores, didn't get mad if we sat in silence, kept out all the annoying
door-to-door salesman over the years and was just generally an all round top dog (pardon the pun).
The loyalty of a dog is unparalleled.
I can remember as well the day we had to get her put down. It might sound stupid, but it was most
definitely one of the worst days in my life. I was physically sick and just overwhelmed with grief.
You wouldn't get like that if your dog didn't mean something to you. It was like an actual member of
my family had died, well, I guess that's what it was really, she was a part of my family.
I can however just see the "cat lovers" coming in and pleading their case, so before they do, I will
tell you now that a cat is not even in the same league as a dog. Cat's pretty much lead a
purposeless life, that is unless of course you consider being able to look at it and go "awwww" as
serving a purpose.
Dogs however, throughout history, have helped man to achieve great things, for example sniffer dogs
that have prevented endless amounts of drug trafficking and also saved human lives by finding people
lost out in the wilderness, as well as protecting them along the way. Police dogs are a perfect
example of that. You can't forget about guide dogs either, I mean really, just think about it, an
animal (and I'm talking about an intelligent animal) devoting it's life to help someone get around
more easily. How can you not say that they are a man or woman's best friend! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I think a dog is probably a man OR a woman's best friend. A dog for instance, doesn't steal your
girlfriend or boyfriend, sleep with your wife, turn up later to your wedding and borrow money and
never give it back.
A dog always seems eager to see you, they don't mind keeping you warm, they love it when you just
want to go for a walk with them. They listen to you and never offer lame advice on any subject.
Okay, they don't offer any advice on any subject.
If a dog is mad, they just let you know. If they are upset they bite you and then it's over. If
the dog is hungry, it eats, thirsty it drinks, it's just simple.
A dog is a great guard for your home and your personal safety. A dog enjoys playing the same game
every week, all you need is a stick or a squeaky peg or some other kind of toy.
Okay, a dog can't lend you money, or tell you that you look good in those shoes, but then again, you
probably shouldn't borrow money from your friend and your friend will probably tell you that you
look good in those shoes whether you do or not.
They are loyal, they make great companions, you can have a great time playing with them, they are
good for snuggling, they keep your feet warm on a cold night and they stay around as long as you
want them to.
A dog is probably more loyal and faithful than any human being can be because they are not
controlled by human emotions. |

Sorry, but I’m gonna have to pull a Darwin on this topic. Let us avoid the sin of
anthropomorphism.
Domestic animals accepted that mantle to protect their own interests, no humans’.
Dogs became “man’s best friend” in order to facilitate their own search for food. Human
hunters left a lot of meat scraps; ergo, dogs that hung out with them got better nutrition. This is
Darwin’s “survival of the fittest.”
Dogs are pack animals, and thus must have a leader to follow and obey. They use us as this
functionary. The slavish devotion they exhibit -- even the human lives they save -- are to maintain
the pack, not because they “love” us, per se.
The love our pets appear to show us isn’t altruism; it is self-interest. As a cat lover, I fully
understand and accept this. We feed and protect dogs; they reciprocate by guarding OUR
self-interests. |
