| It astonishes me that the voice recordings of people scared and desperate for help (from fires, from attackers, for medical emergencies, etc) have their most private moment aired on the evening news. How does this happen? And why? What right do we have to hear a 5 year old girl saying mommy is sleeping in a pool of blood? If you call a non-911 help number, like the police station directly, THAT call is private from the news, so why is a call to the emergency line public access? Why make people reluctant to call? |
