12 Years Old Should Be Allowed A Tablet For Abortion
A few days ago in the UK they were voting on whether 12year old should be allowed to go to the hospital and buy some pills for an abortion and can do it without their parents consent. They would then pass the baby out on the toilet. Personally, i think this is a good idea, being 14 myself, if i got pregnant i wouldn't be keen on going to my mother and telling her. Also, if a girls parents are religious they might force her to keep the baby and hence ruin her life. (finish debate explanation below)

I agree. Pregnancy would ruin their lives. But they should be sopped from having sex in the first place. Beyond way to young.

Of course.
If you want to teach them a lesson why not leave someone in a burning house if it is their fault?
This is rediculous, a poor education and generally bad upbringing are what are to blame.

Kids do stupid stuff but i think that they should have another chance to make the right choice but if they get knocked up again i think they should be jailed because i see no other way really. Kids do what they feel like doing because they don't just stay locked in their room all day

Considering the reality & the future of the 12 old, I will suggest her to go to the hospital to have some pills for abortion.

Definitely. Your parents should not have a say in your decision to have an abortion, regardless of your age.

However, while I don't believe you should need parental permission to abort, I do believe that as long as you are a minor your parents need to be notified of any and all medical procedures, including abortions.

I agree with this because a 12-year old girl does not have the right education to raise a child, her body isn't probably ready for it, and they have no financial responsibility whatsoever, thus providing a bad environment for her child and thus raising another one of society's problems.

But please, all you 12-year old girls: That's completely gross and wrong and if you need an abortion you have issues.

It would be criminal to allow a 12 year old to have a baby, assuming you've already allowed the criminal act of her getting pregnant in the first place.

I think that all children under the age of 16 should be locked in their room at all times under constant supervision so that that never happens.

I'm thinking that nine times out of ten the only sensible solution to a pregnancy at twelve years-old is an abortion. Children in an ideal world would not have to worry about bringing these things to their parents but teenage are not renowned for their filial faith.

Yes, 12 year old shouldn't be having sex, but you can't really stop them and you shouldn't for abstinence on them. If they are allowed the tablet then they have a better chance in succeeding in life than if they have it.
Your thoughts please.
And ill check which way they voted.

I didn't think i read it right the first time so I had to scroll back up.Why are 12 y/o having sex? Is this the new low society has come to? Are we somehow encouraging them to be making life altering decisions on their own? I am left speechless about this topic and how there are people around the world supporting it? What's next? Smaller condoms fit for 9 y/o boys?

In my opinion, twelve is ridiculously young.
Parents should be involved in this type of thing, especially at that age.
I don't see many twelve year olds being mature enough to be able to get a ride to the hospital, and come up with their own money to buy these.
And even so, I think there's many health risks for a twelve year old by taking the pills.

No. If a woman doesn't want to get pregnant, she should either not have sex, or use protection. I think she should have the baby. It's her own fault unless it's rape. Even then, I don't think abortion is right. The baby can be given up for adoption either way.

I thought this was a troll debate, but it's serious. And seeing it fifty-fifty, I want to influence the percentage.

In a few cases, it's okay, but come on! For all of them?

No they should not be. Anyone who feels like they are old/mature enough to become sexually active understand the potential effects of their decision. That's why there is sex ed being taught in the schools.

I believe that abortion should only be granted in cases of rape, incest and when the mother's health is in danger. Abortion in any other case is simply a waste of human life.

The only reason that should even be allowed is if the 12 year old is if a rape victim

Why would you be so spiteful to such a young woman?

This is why some people who are against abortion are retarded.

They say that rape victims should be able to abort, but when a consensual person gets impregnated it's immoral to do so because it's "murdering a child". They completely ignore the "murder" in the case of rape. This makes no sense; if they truly beleive it is murder why would they even consider allowing the rape victim abort?

Any logical answers to that question would also apply to someone who got impregnated with consent but still had the desire to abort.

It's as if it all comes down to human "spite".

People who are against abortion are either extremely ignorant, stupid, or misanthropic.

What we dont need is for the government to have a relationship with our children that decides what their futures and upbringing will be outside our knowledge and paternal rights.
What we dont need is for the Left Wing to decide whats best for my children.
I just love the Left Wing. Save whales, kill babies and save murderers.

re the religious bit. When has that not been true of a section of society at any point in history? To the gullible that sounds like an incredible prophecy but it is like a medium claiming that someone in the room's mum has died in the last few years or someone was embarrassed as a teenager.

As for your rant at lefties - lol, I think half of me is gonna quite like you. The other half will often disagree. On this subject I am inclined to agree. Governments needs to leave well alone when it comes to how I decide to bring up my daughter.

We should take down the bridge enabling them to have sex in the first place.

What's up kids? Don't mess around, there will be consequences that last a life time! =)

Absolutely not. A 12 year old is not mature enough to make a decision like that on their own...they definitely need a parent's involvement...and I'm 100% pro life by the way...I don't EVER believe abortion is the answer!

I think 12 year old's should get an abortion and go through the trauma of the entire thing. Maybe that will teach them to get pregnant so early on in their life!! However, if they are 12 and got raped obviously this is a totally different matter. Then i think they should be helped through the experience in whatever ways possible. But for your average 12 year old that sleeps around and gets pregnant....no they should go through the trauma and learn their lesson. Otherwise you are giving them the message: It's alright, if you get pregnant now, we'll help you through it the easiest way possible. That would be encouraging them!!

Abortions can cause so many terrible things to happen to the mother... Like infertility and PAS (Post-abortion-syndrome) a 12 year old is not capable of making an educated decision. A parent needs to help. BTW, I'm pro-choice for adults.

Abortions do not increase your chances of infertility any more than giving birth does, and PAS is not a recognized medical term or syndrome.

do you really believe that a controlled abortion would be more physically harmful to a 12-year-old than 9 months of pregnancy followed by giving birth?

i heard about a 17-year-old who got knocked up and had to stay in bed for several months because her spine couldn't support the extra weight.

Although I am Pro Choice I do think we need an age cut-off. I'm sorry but I just don't see 12 year old being mature enough to make that call (some might be but many would not). I'd vote for the parents to be involved.
